Super food, cozy ambience, friendly service, whether soon after evening, dance in May or Sylvester, we feel very comfortable every time in the old street championship. Our guests to 60. My husband's birthday was all enthusiastic about the delicious food and the great ambience. By the way, it also sleeps as locals very well and the most beautiful in summer is the terrace. A mission prompted me to stay at the Old Road Championship in Eutin again. Thus known terrain. Beautiful, clean neat room, a great, high-quality breakfast buffet – so I knew what to expect. The kitchen was also good at the first visit to the hotel’s restaurant in early 2014. However, expectations also correspond. In the meantime, there has been a change in the kitchen, which is also favorably reflected in the menu. Thorsten Scheffauer is now the new kitchen master. The ambience is very well maintained, there are three different guest areas:one a little more rustic, one with covered tables primarily for the hotel guests and the “Speisekammer” with upscale cuisine. The next time I'm going to “feed” when I get back there. I had announced myself for 19:00/19:30 for dinner and there was a round 4/5 table covered – I felt a bit lost... ; fabric napkins, neat cutlery, some decoration, simply but completely ok. Salt and pepper do not stand on the tables, are served on request. The service on this Tuesday evening was provided by two very friendly, nice and also beautiful young ladies. The kitchen was only occupied by chefs. The menu of the “Strassenmeisterei” is a bit rustic, but in no case “overload”. This card was given to me quickly and asked for my drink request. I was inconsistent with the water of wine or beer. Finally, there were a 05 duck stone (3,90€ ), in the aftertaste I added a 03 (2,40€ from the suffy “redblonde”. A very good PLV at the beer! After my drink request had been heard, the “Duck” was still on the table for 5 minutes, and I also chose my dishes. Shortly after the beer, for shortening the waiting period, some self-baked pizza rolls for my taste served a trace too long in the oven, but not hard or dry. Olive oil, balsamico and some tomato fresh cheese, fresh in taste, with a nice fruity intense tomato note, slightly sweet with a hint of acidity. After a pleasant waiting period, my appetizer was also served: Pit-made Tartar Diabolo from the Holsteiner Färse, with a spicy sauce, garnished with small tomatoes and onion cubes, cut liquors, hauch-thin parmesan, served on baguette slices (three at the number 5.90€ a top PLV for the fresh dishes offered. A great start. Handling during consumption would be a bit better if the baguette slices are slightly thinner and the document is not so powerful, rather make a slice more of it. That's really finger food because with knives and forks I couldn't handle it – but I've tried honestly; After that, I discussed 20 minutes waiting time until the main course is served. That worked. My skin dish was the burger “Alte Strassenmeisterei”, for 12,50 €, the bun (Bun according to map baked, Cheddar cheese, Romana salad, tomato, candied bacon and a ca. 180 gr. Patty beef (also from the Holsteiner Färse, including Steak House Pommes – this is served in an open glass, a great idea that remained nicely warm, without becoming ‘matchy/soft’, the seasoning with salt perfect (for my taste – no after seasoning necessary. But then there was a drop of wormwood (actually two – the thinly raised slices of an inlaid cucumber – I don’t like it on burgers – which I crawled down: I ordered the burger medium, but got it “done” which I found after two bites. But I didn't complain because he was still juicy and tasty. Because of the building height, I then consumed the burger with knife and fork. The barbecue sauce was too much for my taste, the intense taste dominates too much over the other ingredients. Less is more! Therefore the very tasty appetizer was finally earned 4* The service asked again here whether everything was okay. As with the appetizer, I did my mind. And it was immediately notified to the kitchen. As a “reparation” one offered me a dessert or a digestif on the house. Selected a Grappa. The service of the two young ladies was very friendly and attentive all night. According to the chief, both are still in training. Therefore, the little patzer is apologise that for serving the main dish the new cutlery had not yet been placed on the table. Charming and kindness as well as listening when the guest has something to “out” are far more important. Everyone can make mistakes, he should just learn from it. Finally, cleanliness – impeccable! Conclusion: a pleasant evening, good food, very good PLV, nice, good service – what you want more. So I'm going to eat here again when I have to do in the north and I'm sure I'm going to come in with my wife. PS: the breakfast buffet is small but fine, high quality, lots of fresh fruit, an orange juice press, good rolls, delicious scrambled eggs...for 14,00€ absolutely i.O. In some “famous” hotel of large chains, I have breakfast for more money.
An absolute must for those looking for a holiday in Holstein Switzerland or a trip! Great rooms, service and gastronomy for years! Thickness 5 stars
We were there for 2 nights this week. All right! Rooms clean and cozy, breakfast good. Staff super friendly! And only 20 minutes by car to the Baltic Sea. Thanks for the nice stay! We recommend it.
