What Toral K doesn't like about Red Hot Chilli Pepper( Shangri-la Evanston):
VERY DISAPPOINTED. My first time trying this place on Valentines dinner. We ordered drink, momos, cauliflower Manchurian and Shangri-La noodles. We asked to keep food medium. We ordered Shangrila noodles, but it came out so spicy that I couldn't eat. The waiter took the plate away telling me they will make a new one. I got the same noodles with tons of tomato sauce added. It made the noodles so sour, tangy, sweet, so... View all feedback.
La Shangri-la Asian Fusion was wonderful. They work hard to ensure their customers are satisfied. They are very flexible and willing to adjust the heat level in their various dishes to meet your tastes. Very nice, hardworking people and very good food.

It was amazing to find a Calcutta inspired indo-chinese restaurant. Awesome experience, should go back for the specialty drinks one day.Happy to find Hakka noddles and chilli chicken, which was nice and spicy and not unnecessarily sweet. The garlic rice was very pleasant, though I wish it stood out a bit more.
Fantastic place with great service and flavor! They are an Indo Chinese Halal place with a ton of great options. We got Momo Chicken dumplings and Chilli Chicken appetizer which were both amazing! Really enjoyed them. We got Khow suey noodles which were super flavorful and great. The Burned Garlic Fried Rice was a little bland, so we used the noodle sauce to add more spice. I personally didn 't like the hot and sour soup, but it was made really well (just not my taste). Don 't recommend the Nojito mocktail (just glorified sprite).Their service was really fantastic especially so close to closing time. All the staff were constantly checking in and willing to make adjustments to the food as needed. Food was overall really good definitely recommend the momos and chilli chicken. They recommend reservations on weekends or for large groups! It was pretty full on Friday evening.
I’ve been to this place several times since it opened around 4 years ago. This started off as a great place for Indo-Chinese cuisine in Chicagoland. The restaurant has seen its share of ups and downs in the last 4 years and finally, it seems like there’s been a change in ownership. The food options are more or less the same, maybe one or two options have been deleted. But on our most recent visit, the food was exceptional and faultless. Felt nostalgic eating Manchurian and noodles. We had baby corn, vegetable momo , Chili garlic noodles, chili garlic tofu , and gobi (cauliflower) Manchurian. The portion sizes was big and the food was well-spiced.I’ve always liked the ambience of the place, service was quick and attentive.I had been a bit upset with their take-outs in the past, but honestly in terms of the quality of food, and especially for dine-in, it is back to it’s full glory now. There is a lot less staff around , which is understandable given the significant shortage of staffing in general in the food and service industry. But those who were around, did a great job.Very happy that this place is moving back towards what it used to be like when it opened.
