I believe I have discovered a new favorite restaurant. Housed in a 100-year-old building, this place exudes old school charm. What User doesn't like about Smitty's Italian Steakhouse:
Do not eat here if they have food allergies or food restrictions. I have zöliakie and informed my server several times about my allergy, and after ordering and eating something that is supposedly labeled gluten-free on their menu, the server came out and said “spiritually that is not gluten-free” after I had eaten half of it. We were in town for business and Smitty's was recommended for dinner. It was fantastic! We started with calamari and bruschetta, both were delicious, the calamari was lightly breaded and perfectly fried. I had the champagne chicken, others had the lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs and one gentleman had a steak. Everyone enjoyed their meal greatly, the steak was described as best ever. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!
First time there, bit of a wait but well worth it!! Best steak I've had and the salmon was spot on had great flavor, service was excellent would highly recommend
It was my first visit and it was the Best sirloin steak I 've ever eaten! I like mine 'well ' so I usually expect it to be a bit chewy but this steak just melted in my mouth! They even carry my favorite steak sauce Country Bob 's but I never used it. The juices from the steak were better than any steak sauce! Can 't wait to go back!
We have been here 5 times since moving to Evansville and couldn't be happier! Love this place. Never had a bad meal, service is fine and love that it's local. My favorite place in town!!
The food was as good as it always has been, brought a friend too that had never eaten there, she was very impressed! Your Mascato wine was wonderful too
