"First time back after the restaurant’s face lift. Nice and warm with 2 new log burners. Simple men, nicely presented and cooked. Friendly waiter, who speaks good English. Having the bar upstairs is an improvement, and it is now easier just to go for a beer (bottled). We’ll be returning!Wise to book ahead for either evening or lunch time."

"We booked L’Ermitage for an overnight stop en route from Cauterets to Calais. It is a little off the beaten track but all the more desirable for that. If you are expecting to walk out from this hotel and find an abundance of quaint shops...and boutiques then you will be disappointed. There are none. However if you want to enjoy a drink or two in a lovely setting following your drive to or from your destination and then sample the superb menu at dinner, this is the place for you. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Our accommodation was well appointed although a lack of air con made for quite a warm night. There is a lovely pool and sauna. There is also private and secure parking. Although time did not allow a visit, it is evident from the road signs that the area has several interesting caves to explore. Look, it would be easy to be a little critical in some areas about L’Ermitage but to be honest, after the lovely dining experience we have just had, to do so would be petty. No hesitation in returning."
