Andy's Juice Joint - Fairfield

My partner tried a smoothie that Andy recommended, which was not on the menu but included espresso, blueberries, and chocolate protein powder (it was delicious!). I opted for the Carrot Greens Juice made with carrot, apple, kale, and dandelion greens, which was also very flavorful. We also shared a cup of vegan corn chowder, which we found to be tasty. We chose to take our items to go and brought our own metal straws. Andy informed us that their take-out packaging, which resembles plastic, is actually made of corn plastic and is compostable. Although it cannot be composted at home, it will biodegrade faster in a landfill than traditional plastics, and some facilities have the ability to compost corn plastics. I was pleased to hear about their environmentally friendly practices, as many businesses in Fairfield still use styrofoam.
