"Five stars for the fried avocado, how had I never had that before? The waitress made a few mistakes, first serving a cup when we asked for a bowl, and then putting our prime rib order in as a ribeye order. But she corrected both in the receipt to reflect the prices of what we ordered, which meant we got a great deal since the ribeye would have cost more."

"Perfect end for a day on the river. A family friendly, seafood joint/bar and grill on the bank of Fish River (The family friendly part is a sign asking you not to cuss and a really neat natural sand box for the little ones. The setting is river casual... People come by car and boat. My last two times at Big Daddy 's, my wife and I were paddling our kayaks. The view is wonderful... The drinks are good... The food is basic fried seafood and seafood po boys. For excellent cheap meal, order the black and stormy (Kraken spiced rum and ginger ale and half a soft shell crab po boy and gumbo. The soft shells are fat and tasty. The gumbo is thin and tomato based but delicious and spicy. The French bread for the po boy would makes make New Orleans proud. When I order this, I eat the crab first...then I dip the French bread in the gumbo. A really good basic meal. Big Daddy 's is not a gourment restaurant. It is the perfect ending for a day on the river. Highly recommended."

"Wonderful menu and I haven't been disappointed yet. I tried various Taco options, the salmon was one of my faves. I also had one of the noodle dishes that was also very tasty. Small restaurant with limited interior, but many tables outside. Note, however, that they have a limited menu during the Fairhope Art and Crafts Festival."
