"There is no other pub on earth like the genny. The staff, the atmosphere that makes you reflect on the legends that have stepped inside the genny before you. The staff are amazing super helpful friendly. The food is unbeatable! Pizza, pasta, salads, laksas, steaks schnitzels. If you're looking to party there is no better place on the mountain to be than at the genny. With live entertainment every other night then DJs after dinner service to make sure your time on the mountain is the best. The general mountain accommodation apartments are also immaculate, super modern have beautiful views."

"Great place, great atmosphere, great food. Hygiene practises seriously lacking we watched the chip guy touch his nose, scratch his head, eat a couple of chips from the chip bowl, then scoop with his bare hands food directly onto serving plates and then wipe the grease onto his pants, repeat about 3 times over. Zero sanitiser etc. I’m sure he’s a top bloke amongst the waitstaff but the hygiene behaviours are way out of whack."

"This is the 4th year in a row we have come to Dinner Plain and main reason as opposed to staying in Hotham was this place. Not sure what has happened over the last 12 months but i gave them 2 tries and both well below satisfactory to have no salads or vegetables available with your meal i can forgive but to serve food i would rate as a bad day in the kitchen for myself as a below average cook is unacceptable. I am not opposed to paying any amount for a good meal so my review is not based on the price they charge but in relation to the food they are serving it is obscene. I might try again one day in the hope they regain there mojo but in reality it seems they may have lost their passion"
