"It’s time I wrote a review for Ostlers Close. We’ve been clients since it opened and it is still cause to be overjoyed when we visit. "We visited the Peat Inn prior to lockdown 2020, I was 8 months pregnant at the time. When asked about any dietary requirements I pointed out that I was pregnant which meant there was things I couldnt eat, and the servers response was you'll need...to tell us what you can't have This was difficult as it wasn't entirely clear what you were getting from the tasting menu, so I didnt add any more at this point. Having used multiple wedding vouchers during the previous 11 months to this point, including other Michelin starred restaurants, every other response to my dietary requirements was essentially no problem. Our first course came and I started eating it without realising it was raw fish, which is something I shouldn't have been eating so I ended up pretty upset and pretty much ruined the night. No fault to the food, but bad customer service. The cost of our drinks were taken off the bill, which must have been their form of apology, until they realised we had a voucher for the food."

"I first got to know the owner and staff on Leven Pizza Parlour while doing Street Pastors on Saturday nights. The Pizza Pie they do is to die for, as I am sure is the rest of their menu. They are very appreciative of the work SP do, even gave us a large Pizza for our break. Best in town!!"

"Stayed for one night with our 2 dogs plus points: Friendly welcome. Had a very tasty lunch when we arrived. Room and bathroom was a fair size. Basic but clean. Staff stripped the single bed in the room and covered with a throw so the dogs could be comfy too. Very good continental breakfast selection. Minus points: The double bed was very uncomfortable and on inspection it appeared broken and had been mended with what look like a piece of pallet wood. There was a strange smell, which we could only describe as a mixture of damp and disinfectant. While in our room, the door was opened by a man who claimed we were in his room. When we went to clear the matter up with the management, we were advised that he had the room for 2 weeks prior to our arrival had been moved to another room but they had forgotten to tell him or take the key back! Could have been very scary if this had happened to a woman travelling alone."
