"This is the best place I have ever eaten! The setting is small, well presented and homely front room with only a handful of tables. The person waiting on you is the owner, and she is incredibly friendly, making conversation, discussing the food and wine with you and generally being a fantastic host. The food is really amazing! You will eat food that you have eaten a hundred times before, say a potato, but suddenly you taste something that you did not know could be achieved with this ingredient. I kept expecting to find some part of the dish that was not so great, but even food I normally would not like (like cabbage) simply becomes something tastier than I could imagine. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! It is the best place to eat in this entire region of Scotland!"

"Stayed for one night with our 2 dogs plus points: Friendly welcome. Had a very tasty lunch when we arrived. Room and bathroom was a fair size. Basic but clean. Staff stripped the single bed in the room and covered with a throw so the dogs could be comfy too. Very good continental breakfast selection. Minus points: The double bed was very uncomfortable and on inspection it appeared broken and had been mended with what look like a piece of pallet wood. There was a strange smell, which we could only describe as a mixture of damp and disinfectant. While in our room, the door was opened by a man who claimed we were in his room. When we went to clear the matter up with the management, we were advised that he had the room for 2 weeks prior to our arrival had been moved to another room but they had forgotten to tell him or take the key back! Could have been very scary if this had happened to a woman travelling alone."

"Absoloute gem of a place if your passing the area must goto coffee stop, extremely welcoming staff with attention to detail in everyway warm welcome from the 2 girls serving, had a mocha maybe 2 lol and looking at menu went for something new for me macaroni cheese toastie, which was amazing huge portions and perfectly made outstanding food and cakes yum yum, all in all amazing visit and definitely a return visit on the cards maybe try the afternoon tea that looked amazing l, querky place great atmosphere and staff were so friendly."
