We called in to Caffe AIEM on our first night in Florence: it was 7pm and the caffe closed at 7.30pm, but we were made extremely welcome. Our drinks were served promptly and then the proprietor brought forward a large bowl of peanuts and a large bowl of crisps, compliments of the house. We were two British tourists looking for lunch. The cafe clearly had tables but the waiters ignored us at the door, and later told us they were “full” when there were evidently tables available both within the cafe and outdoor seating. They also said they did not do takeaway despite having a deli counter. Not friendly and wouldn’t go there again. One wonders if this is their attitude towards foreigners. View all feedback.
