"It consisted of a meal here at the first night of our stay based on the reviews I had previously read. my man had the Chinese new year special and I had the butternut squash pizza. while both were nice, they weren't very great. So I was a little disappointed to be honest."

"Bill the Texan was rushed off his feet as only staff working when we called. He was pleasant, polite, professional and knew his cheeses when enquired about Christmas hampers. Dailer the lovely lady also a great help. We had no complaints"

"Amazing fish and chips, with every Saturday GLUTEN FREE special. Staff is incredibly nice, welcoming and knowledgeable about all their products. Fish is great, haddock and MSc certified Cod (even if I rather not eat cod as the stock is really low, something certification can 't change as of now). Fish batter both regular and gluten free were super crisp and light, with a great flavor. Onion rigs were superb and very fresh. They also have ice-cream but haven 't tried it. Looks great though. Get ur fish and walk 100m to the view point with the cannons, where there are benches and tables to eat your fish and chips with a view. All in all amazing experience, especially in a winter sunny day. Ps. Across the road you can buy a beer, cider or a locally roasted hot coffee at the gourmet pig to compete the meal or before the drive back home. "There is no doubt that the kitchen staff can cook, we were pleased with the cuisine. However, service could be friendlier and faster...we waited more than an hour between starter and main course, which is not acceptable, especially as there was no explanation for the delay or apology. We didn't see the waiter who was concentrating on the main dining area...it was like we had been forgotten. Limited opening times, but potentially a great restaurant if waiting staff could show a bit more enthusiasm and attention."

"Stopped for Sunday lunch while we were passing. Absolutely lovely, one of the best Sunday Lunches I've had in ages. The meat was lovely and tender, the gravy was thick. Good selection of veg. Nothing was over cooked. We all the small adult portions, and they were huge, brought the leftovers home. Sadly we had no room for dessert, although they looked delicious. Great Value, lovely friendly quick service, a real fire, and we were allowed to bring our dog into the bar. I'll definitely be back when I'm passing again."
