"Nestled on Folkestone 's seawall, The Holy Pundit surprises as an unconventional curry house. Hidden above The Mariner pub, this small, bustling venue has a laid back vibe that immediately welcomes you. The menu diverges from the norm, presenting Pundit Signature dishes alongside more traditional options. The chef 's passionate recommendations really helped us select and experience some amazing dishes. Standouts include exceptional onion bahjis that are a must order and inventive poppadoms. Although, these left us unable to unleash our tagline “Six Poppadoms Please” much to our annoyance. Mains and sides impress with faultless execution. Due to the unconventional nature of the menu customers may benefit from staff guidance, luckily the chef was more than happy to help. He gave us some fantastic advice, whilst choosing our meal. Service is characterised by a laid back yet polite demeanour, with unexpected complimentary starters enhancing the experience. The limited Indian beer selection was a minor letdown, the decor lacks traditional curry house elements and facilities would benefit from an update. Despite these minor drawbacks, The Holy Pundit earns a resounding recommendation. Its unique location, surprising ambience and exceptional service contribute to its 'hidden gem ' status. Approach with an open mind, an empty stomach and allow The Holy Pundit to deliver an unparalleled curry house experience. "Great curry house, not the usual vat brewed madras, they have a really interesting and tasty menu. I recommend the Murgh Makhani. The staff are always very pleasant and the owner is a nice bloke."

"Stopped in Folkstone for the first time, upon arriving my family and I ventured to The Bouverie Tap. Highly enjoyed the authenticity of the pub, and the personable staff. Dani our server was great! Suggesting a variety of drinking options to try. Additionally, I recommend you try the fish and chips, you won’t be disappointed. Atmosphere was great!"

"Fab coffee shop! the maple is beautiful. my partner had a hot chocolate and the biggest disc of the herb, he said it was the best vs he ever had. great atmosphere, super busy so that this is a great sign....The service was also fab. gluten free cake brownies also available! I will be back"

"As a couple that both work weekends ! We don’t have time to cook Sunday lunch . So each Sunday we have a takeaway from The George and I must say it never disappoints!!! With a fantastic choice on the Sunday lunch menu , we never get bored and have tried all the meat dishes , all of which have been superb. Just like a home cooked meal . Fresh veg crispy roasties , tender meat and home made Yorkshire and gravy . Definitely recommend"
