On the last two years the quality of food has deteriorated dramatically and over the last two visits driving through Forbes has absolutely decided us to find somewhere to eat. we ordered fish and chips, well the batter was so oily we removed most of it and the fish was wafer thin, it was accompanied by about 20 chips and a small small Creme Brulee bowl of slad that was absolutely nothing. Friendly staff, and homely atmosphere. The food is very tasty, well portioned and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our lunch here.

"What a dissapointment We booked a table for 17 people and asked and were told we would be outside with heaters. Once before we ate there in a large crowd, under the marquee with heaters. This time we were stuck on the paved area outside the restaurant, with insuffient heaters on an extremely cold and windy night in April. We all froze. When we booked we said we had NSW dine and discover vouchers, but they would not let us pay individually, they said all vouchers had to be on one phone this is just not possible. The wait staff were argumentive and unhelpful. THe portions of food were ridiculous, 4 pizzas for 17 people, 3 lots of various of pasta plates, again for 17 people. Some quests went straight to Maccas after eating here, as they were still starving. Based on the most terrible night, hell would have to freeze over before I would eat there again. Shame on all the staff and owners, they overbooked the restaurant and couldn't cope or supply enough food."

"Shuttle bus picked 8 of us up, friendly driver. We had a selection of meals from pork ribs where meat fell off bone's,beef/chicken snitty with different toppings,. Salmon. We all throughly enjoyed ourselves. Beer was cold and wine selection nice.Would go again."

"Loved the plain burgers we had. Fresh ingredients and juicy meat patty. $8 plain burger is an absolute bargain and they tasted awesome. No complaints here, only praise. Excellent prices, great value for money and super friendly staff/owners. We highly recommend going for the cheapest and best burgers and chips in town. Other places in Forbes are charging $22 for a plain burger, ridiculous. Try the Wattle Cafe, you won't be disappointed."
