Lovely family run place. Service could be a tad faster. The food however is truly amazing especially the Thai green chicken curry.

"Came her a couple months ago on a road trip. We had just visited the wildlife Center and were feeling a bit hungry so we stopped here to take a look. It was understandably busy but the waiters were so bossy. We barely stepped inside the building to look at the menu and we already had 2 waiters trying to seat us and almost pulling us to a seat inside. We told them we just wanted to see a lunch menu and that if we were staying we would want somewhere outside. They didn't seem very friendly after that and asked us to leave. If u don't like being pushed around and don't enjoy sitting inside a loud building I don't recommend. P.s. I promise we were not being rude at all. We were calm when we said we'd like to see a menu. Service: 1"

"Had the mushroom pasta. My friend loved the pasta, but for me the cheese was stronger than I expected but still liked it. Portion good. Garlic bread nice. Good value for Menu. Had mud cake for dessert which was really good. We had jumping goat shots at 8 NZD each as an aperitif which I thought was great value. We sat outside and it was relatively busy with an interesting crowd."

"We stayed 2 nights at Franz Josef, tried several restaurants and the best one must go is Monsoon ! The food is delicious, not too salty as others places, and prices are very reasonable. The “boss” at the counter taking the order was very friendly ! He kept our wine in freezer to keep it cold after we paid it hahaha ! Thanks bro/mate/boss"
