"We have eaten at most of the La Colombe group restaurants and always thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We tried Protégé during a weekend away in Franschoek and it was positively mind blowing. The food, service and ambiance were all next level. The friendly team were helpful, engaged, patient and funny! We had such a great time. The prawn stuffed Korean fried chicken was a particularly great standout and the cocktails were unreal!"

"Amazingly beautiful dishes, elite style restaurant. Dishes not too big but very tasty, wine glasses portioned well. Got some nice “on the house” treats. Only slight problem is that food takes a LOT of time to come out."

"World class restaurant with excellent menu. Chef Darren has created his own beautiful space with every dish on the tasting menu done to perfection Simple, unique, well balanced and brimming with flavor. Service by Jasper, Webster and their colleagues was impeccable. We had a very special evening and will be back."
