"There is a reason this place is rated #1 for breakfast in Franschhoek! Everything was just as you hope a great breakfast will be. I’ve had breakfast in many Franschhoek eateries and haven’t had a bad one, but this is just a step above the others. Plus a funky little shop inside. Definitely recommend. "We have eaten at most of the La Colombe group restaurants and always thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We tried Protégé during a weekend away in Franschoek and it was positively mind blowing. The food, service and ambiance were all next level. The friendly team were helpful, engaged, patient and funny! We had such a great time. The prawn stuffed Korean fried chicken was a particularly great standout and the cocktails were unreal!"

"This was my first Reuben 's experience and it wasn 't great. 'I&J ' fish was torrid. The batter hard and like crispy bacon, cooked in old oil or at least that what 's it tasted like. Crumble cold and service was slooooow. 2hrs for mains. Disappointing. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3"

"Amazingly beautiful dishes, elite style restaurant. Dishes not too big but very tasty, wine glasses portioned well. Got some nice “on the house” treats. Only slight problem is that food takes a LOT of time to come out."
