Cafe Marcel im Stadtgarten

Au abord du parc et à deux pas du centre historique, voilà un petit endroit idéal pour prendre un petit déjeuner au vert . Même par temps de pluie le site est équipé d'une toile qui permet de se poser à l'abris . Accueil très agréable , produits frais et bons . Tarifs corrects très corrects . À recommander .

We grabbed a coffee and Panini at this little kiosk Café after walking up the Schlossberg in Freiburg. It's right next to the cable car in a lovely park. We had a flat white with the Rwandan guest blend, which was delicious. It's only a small outfit but they have proper baristas who love making a really good brew using fair trade beans. Staff are friendly and prices reasonable, especially compared to the Dattler Hotel at the top of the cable car, who were charging nearly 5€ for an Earl Grey Tea. Two flat whites and two Paninis came in at 17€ at Café Marcel. There's a small food menu, and organic ice cream too. Also, there are free toilets in the park by the bridge. Don't pay 0.60€ to use the loos in the coach park over the road.

Das Cafe Marcel ist wirklich wunderbar! Die Kaffee-Spezialtäten sind sehr hochwertig und auch die Snacks sind sehr lecker. Die Location ist wunderschön um sich mit Freunden zu treffen, die Sonne zu genießen oder einfach nur ein Buch zu lesen.Sehr zu empfehlen!

Best coffee in town (though the coffee quality in Freiburg overall isn't great if you're a spoilt hipster coffee snob). Decent flat white, though no latte just the German "latte macchiato" Nice location for a sunny day though.
