"That was luck in the disaster we landed here. And never heard of this place. Golocal, but you can't remember everything. The hot Sunday afternoon on the way to the canyon lake. After Freiburg the car went by car to Hellntal. I haven't experienced that for decades. You just didn't come forward, then you pushed the bubble. Shortly determined, my husband rushed out at the next exit. Buchenbach 1km stood here on a sign. Maybe another way leads to the Black Forest. And maybe there's a host house on the way. In the middle of Buchenbach we discovered the eagle who just invited us to stop here. A nice restaurant in the Black Forest with beer garden. It was completely occupied. A very friendly service invited us inside, in the wooden bed room. There was plenty of space and you sat comfortably. First of all, I must praise the service personnel. From my place I looked intrigued how competent and rational work is done here. Three middle-aged women worked hand in hand, there was no way free, each guest was served fast and friendly. And that at 35 degrees. And it was time to show us another way to the canyon lake. A little further, but almost car-free. There was a big tip. And eat something else. Typical regional dishes, sauces, roasts, carvings, all with salad between 10 and 15 euros. My hunter Carving with late Zle and salad really tasted homemade. And a great dress for salad. The next trip to the Hochschwarzwald will be back to Buchenbach."

"We regularly eat with our little daughter and my father-in-law at the restaurant Hirschen and have never been disappointed! Of course, the extremely fine dishes, from classics to seasonal dishes, are all included, as well as the excellent and very, very friendly service! "I wish I had 5 stars. The food and the service would have earned it. Only the waiting period was a bit too long (1 hour between appetizer and main food). And two components from the main food were no longer warm. But as written above, the quality of food was worth 5 stars!"

"I wanna love this place so much. The location is top, the menu reads beautifully, the drinks selection is decent but the food was not as good as expected. We ordered Ei Bennedikt (eggs benny) and the poached egg was hard rather than soft and...runny as it should be. A fact that was somewhat redeemed by the lovely cake they serve. We went bak a second time, for dinner, and again, execution of the food wasn't quite right. Th steak was not medium rare as requested, the burger meat pretty dry. All in all, there's room for improvement. But the menu is super. I really love it and hope our next visit will deliver!!"
