Starbucks is Starbucks, but this is a short distance from Hakata Station Chikushi-guchi. There is a lot of space inside and nice decor. The counter facing the outside window gives a nice view of the hustle and bustle of Hakata Station. View all feedback.
Hotel is nice, but needs are really hard and pillows are kinda flat. If you have back problems, would not recommend.
Great location. Connected to the mall and train station. Lots of choices of food around. Room size was nice as well. Buffet breakfast is yummy, although the variety of the food didn't change in the 5 days I was there. The breakfast waffle is nice and there is a fresh orange juice machine.
Location location location...rest is not so important. Taxis, trains, buses, restaurants, shopping, temples, onsen, etc all walking distance. Rooms clean but small. Daily bottled water, coffee, tea, wide spread buffet breakfast all add up to value. Efficient front desk with a pleasant English speaking Russian staff...
I really enjoyed my stay at Oriental Hotel. I stayed here for 5 nights and the price included breakfast buffet. Hotel room was comfortable, I booked for a basic double but ungraded my room on arrival to a twin single. I ended up with 2 single beds instead of a double but I’m travelling alone so not an issue. The room was 10 square metres bigger and it put me on level 11 instead of 6. It only cost an extra 60Y. The room cleaning was 10/10 and staff were so polite. They also didn’t charge extra for room clean. I’ve stayed at 5 other hotels on this trip and they all charge about 30Y for cleaning service. I would suggest you get to the buffet early (before 8:30am) as it did get very busy after that time. They gym facility was great for Japan hotel standards, they have a smith machine with about 120kg available, dumbbell rack 1-10kg, cable machine, 2 treadmills and a bike. They could use more attachments for the cables as they only had basic handles but hey, better than any other hotel I’ve been to. Laundry facility’s and outdoor seating area is available on the same level as the gym. Laundry is 100Y operated and have seperate dryer available to. The outdoor area is not a pool! Some photos online looks like it is, but it’s actually just a water feature. The located is literally 60m from the front of Hakata station. There was heaps and I mean HEAPS of restaurants to eat at within the station. The OIOI building and other surrounding ones all connect underneath the hotel. You can get very lost (like me) so try and remember you landmarks if you can’t read Japanese.
The hotel is practically attached to Hakata station so it's extremely convenient! Which means it's also attached to countless restaurants and above the Lawson so all your needs are met within a minute walking radius. The staff are friendly and helpful. Check in was super easy. The wifi works perfectly. There are vanity kits, body towels, hair brushes, razors, and tooth brush amenities in the room as well as a kettle, mini fridge, and instant coffee. The room is small but very nice, new looking, and efficient. The shower is luxurious and the provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are great quality. There is free coffee from the machine on the 5th floor and snacks, beer, and a vending machine for purchases. There's also the gym which looked small but the coffee seems to be closed after our first day. I also used the coin laundry. It looks like the lint catcher is never cleaned out so I had to open it and clean it myself before putting in my clothes. ¥300 for wash (it says detergent is automatically added when you hit wash but the clothes don't smell any different
