Lanzhou Hand Pull Noodle - Gaithersburg

My beef noodles were excellent. Plenty of beef and all the individual flavors were well complemented by the broth. The shrimp dumplings were very good as well. Excellent prices for the area.

Drove for an hour and a half to check it out, the online reviews seemed promising, but after trying the “beef combo hand pulled noodles soup” 牛腩總匯湯麵） today, I was sorely disappointed. Perhaps, for someone who has never lived in an Asian country and never tasted authentic Asian cuisine, this might be considered exotic. But for customers who have been living in China, Taiwan, and other similar places for years, my experience with the beef combo hand pulled noodles soup today feel like taking an Italian to Domino’s Pizza.The noodles lacked chewiness and elasticity, completely missing the texture of hand pulled noodles. The beef broth lacked the rich aroma from simmering with beef bones, and the few pieces of beef were too sparse to appreciate the craftsmanship.I have a big appetite, but unfortunately, I couldn’t finish my meal because the texture of the noodle was completely off, so I ended up leaving. 毫無拉面口感）What’s the deal with this Lanzhou noodle? Is it made by an American Caucasian chef?

Great food! I say to order at register or on a screen. Quick service. Highly recommend for a quick good lunch.

The noodle is pretty good, good texture and good flavor. But the amount is so small, I doubt if it can feed a 5 years old. I can easily consume 2 bowls if you 3. For the price tag I expect to at least fill my tummy full.

I almost didn’t go because of bad reviews but I’m so glad I did! The food was great. The beef was a little fatty, but that was my only problem. I lived in China for 7 years and ate Lanzhou la mien in Lanzhou. As soon as I smelled the soup it brought back memories. Will definitely go again! The hostess was helpful and talked to my 2 year old who was throwing a tantrum which helped her calm down faster.
