"Absolutely INCREDIBLE wine experience!! This is much more than your average wine tasting it's an in depth learning and sensory experience that wine enthusiasts of any level will definitely enjoy. Rafa is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, hilarious, and is happy to answer any questions you have. This was without a doubt the coolest wine tasting we've done anywhere, and an absolute must while in Porto! We cannot wait to take the skills we learned and apply it to wine at home."

"We were Blind-sided when we arrived and we’re told that we did not chose the Blind Emotion menu, which is in fact what we booked a month in advance. Apparently, the Fork website doesn’t allow specification of the experience you are looking for. Upon arrival we were seated in their GastroBar. Only one other couple was being served at that time. We asked if they would allow us to have the Emotion menu nonetheless but they said that would not be possible as they needed 24h notice. They then told us that this has happened many times and they have complained to Fork but nothing could be done. How about just changing the restaurant description to include the issue and recommended that patrons call to specify what they are looking for. The menu was uninspired, but I need to admit that the food was tasty. The drinks too lacked any aspect of craft cocktails. Only the basics were available and even they were either saccharine sweet or flavorless. The experience was not special, the atmosphere sedate and forgettable. It would appear that the ownership is Blind to what today’s restaurant goers are seeking in a culinary experience."

"I made a reservation by emailing the restaurant and it was answered immediately. we were greeted and telephoned. the headkeeper explained the concept and gave some recommendations to wein. the cocktail list was great. (I had the Oh computer) that was excellent. we ordered the tuna tartare and the rib and both were delicious and an salat we share. a nice next note was that they used their first names when they talked to them and made it personal. gloomy on the menu that all look great and we were told we could order and get half the portions we did. we were in portugal for a week and were our best meal by far and highly recommended. pictures of the desert included."

"It was an incredibly sad experience. From the moment we arrived, it was all about getting our money. Starters were served at €3 per person without us being asked, there was a fixed person fee of €2.5 and when we had to pay they tried to insert an additional payment fee of 5% of the bill. The food itself was average. We ordered a cheese platter, which was served without mention of the contents and without bread. When we asked for bread, this was put on the bill. The service started fine, but when we didn't choose the waiter's recommendation the level dropped a lot and we had to go up and ask for a bill ourselves when we were done. The room itself was very noisy and we cannot recommend the place in any way."

"This small restaurant in a commercial centre in the centre of Marco de Canaveses is always packed at lunchtime, despite no lack of competition. When it's sunny, the outside tables with views of the neighbouring hills are also packed, but that doesn't slow down the service. The reasons are plenty... although there are usually only a couple of dishes of the day and the fare is simple; soups, salads, pastas, quiches, these are delicious and presented with panache. My simple chicken salad, for example, included a variety of salad leaves, shredded beetroot, finely sliced red and white cabbage, cucumber, tomatoes, couscous, chickpeas, fruit and dressing. Then there are the ever changing range of irresistible cakes, better than I've seen in big city restaurants: profiterole brownie cake, Black Forest gateaux, lime cheese cake, apple crumble cake (yes, cake). Always fresh, plentiful but sold out at the end of the day. They serve breakfasts (yoghurts, toast, fresh orange juice, French style croissants), teas and coffees (my favourite coffee in town), lunch, but are always closed at the end of the day and unfortunately all day on Monday. All this in a former shop decorated in the eclectic style of its dynamic, charming multilingual proprietor, Pedro, who everyone knows and who appears to know everyone. Pedro is the heart and soul of Pianissimo, which is so named because of the upright piano in the centre, played on Saturday afternoons at tea time and any other time passing pianists wish to play. Set up as a local restaurant/ café, it has already gained a reputation which has spread beyond the town. I heartily recommend it, and intend to return often."

"Pizzas, pasta and some more traditional Portuguese fares. The pizzas are average, pasta is below average and the rest looks better. Very popular by reasons I don’t understand. Maybe because it’s cheap."
