"Always so friendly and welcoming. Food is great, and good sized portions. Usually have the chicken quesadilla platter relish! Also love their borscht, when they have it, and their maple walnut cheesecake (and I'm not usually a dessert person). Just feels homey and comfortable. Lisa, Jen, and the others so cheery!"

"It's definitely my first choice for going to breakfast when we can make it. It gets super busy, especially on weekends. I love the eggs benedict plate and anything from the waffle/pancake section of the menu. Really enjoyable place, and the servers are efficient and friendly. "It is easy to think that this place survives from the captured ferry audience. Far from it! We locals are often overrun the island for food. "The El Caracol Cafe is somewhere that I have been eying for some time now. What is particularly unusual about this place is that it is in the same strip mall as another Mexican restaurant; indeed, only 2 businesses are between them ! In spite of this, neither business is out of business yet.<br/ <br/ This may be because El Caracol is more of a Central American restaurant than a Mexican one; the fare includes pupusas and other Central American favorites.<br/ <br/ The restaurant beyond the doors is almost painfully cramped. The menu is quite surprisingly large for such a small place. I don’t know how they do the rice... but it may well be the best rice I have ever had. These guys know how to cook! I highly recommend them, although the wait time is a little long."

"Some of, if not the best, halibut fish and chips I've had, and being that I live in the seafood epicentre of BC, I've had my fair share of good fish and chips! Service was top notch and friendly. Very clean and has a great patio. Will definitely venture back here in the future."
