What hospitality, what smiles, and of course the most AMAZING Montreal smoked meat I ever tasted and being from Ottawa , Ontario we have tried some incredible Montreal smoked meat in our day, this is by far the best I have ever experienced . "Just what you want for breakfast! Friendly service, fast too, refills without hassle, and tasty as heck. The classic Benny was $16. With coffee and tip, it came to $23 for one. There?s a heated patio but the inside is cool too, so be sure you dress warm in winter months."

"This is a fab place to eat.... and the cocktails are wonderful as well. I have eaten at this fabulous restaurant through the complete luncheon menu. It has taken me nearly a year to do so, but each time I was never disappointed, ....not once. I ordered a Pimm 's 1 and it was not quite up to the bar, madam owner who makes a lovely Pimm 's 1 was not in the house, but the waiter called her and received an instruction, followed it and presented a very nice drink.I am sure he is practicing and will soon be as deft a hand as the lady owner. All details are observed in the restaurant, Even to the use of muslin covered lemon with the fish dishes. Most places in Vancouver do not use or know this is the correct way of serving a lemon half or wedge. So lets call it fine dining here, because it is fine dining."

"Found what looked like a thick black hair possibly from a dog in my food. Wasnt the best food aside from the hair. Very greasy cabbage tasted a tad off."

"Outdoor or indoor seating. Sat in the sun under umbrella with beautiful view and enjoyed a flight of local cider and snacks. Decided to return or dinner as there were several vegan options on the dinner menu. Great beverages and snacks."

"I want to make it clear that I would give this place a 3.5, I just rated it a 4 to be nice on YELP! The service we had was really amazing, the waiter even took the time to learn everyone's names. So many servers would never make the effort to do something like that, and it definitely goes a long way. : I have this ridiculous issue with the Charcuterie Board... we paid $20 for something that had literally nothing on it. I was like dang thats a good price for a charcuterie board. But then I actually got it... And I was so confused because we paid for bread and butter as well, and that is what we used for the charcuterie board. So if we hadn't bought the extra bread would we have gotten nothing to actually put the meat and cheese on?? You HAVE to buy the add on if you actually want to EAT the charcuterie board. So basically it is listed as $20, however since you have to order bread or crackers on the side it makes it more like $26. Not a huge price difference, just a weird way to list something on the menu. Like just list it as $26 and add some effing bread/crackers to the plate. I am ordering a charcuterie board, I am not concerned about price here I just want to stuff my face with crackers and meat!!! Here I am thinking I'm getting this charcuterie board with crackers involved, and paying for some extra bread and butter on the side. But no crackers! Damn! So when people order the charcuterie with no add on are they just eating cheese and meat? So weird! Anyway I've gone on about this long enough, it's not exactly a crisis situation. I tried the heirloom carrots as well which were really good. The best thing that I tired was the sausage and red pepper flatbread. If you're going to come here for dinner I would recommend just going with a flat bread. I wish I did that instead of trying to mess around and share things with other people. I could have straight up eaten that entire Charcuterie board by myself in 3 minutes, but I had to sit there and pretend like I was able to share. Mistake on my part. The ambience of this place is really great. They have live music and it seems to be decently busy. We left around 10ish and it was dying down. A very upscale and trendy feel to it."

"This place used to be a 5 star, but its different now. Been 2 times in the last while. Server came over chewing food, and had to ask my order 5 times because he wasn 't listening properly. Food came out and there was a clump of uncooked noodles in the middle of my soup. No refund because no boss, no refund .I 'm very sad because this place used to be my favorite to go with my group of friends, but we will no longer be going. I still remember the youuur welcome server from a while ago, James I believe. Hopefully this restaurant will one day be good again."

"We live near by and used to really like the Stonehouse, but have found our experiences there have been worse and worse. My wife convinced me to go again tonight, but I was really unimpressed with the food. Definitely won't be back. We had ribs that were over cooked and chewy, Caesar salad that was more like Caesar dressing with some lettuce swimming in it, tasteless dry crab cakes, and burnt roasted potatoes. I got the impression that the chef had fallen asleep while cooking our food.Wouldn't recommend this restaurant anymore. Sorry"

"This is my last effort to get my concerns across to the management team at sawmill. My family and I are incredibly disappointed at the downward spiral this restaurant has taken over the years. We have been going there and ordering out for 6 years and thecustomer service has become terrible. They do not care about their customers. We have given them countless chances to make rightand they keep disappointing. The last straw I called to make a takeout order and was put on hold for quite some time. I wastold the person had to ?deal? with the people at the door. When the person came back, she took my order. She then put me on holdagain to check with the kitchen on timing. When she came back, she told me the kitchen said no we will not make your order.Seriously?!! This is absolutely horrendous customer service to make someone sit on hold, place an order and tell them after thefact you won?t make the order. I have three young children to feed and this restaurant is of the impression that their time ismore valuable then the customer. This is not the first time we?ve had an issue similar to this. They have charged us for food wedidn?t get, they have given us wrong food twice, they?ve made us stand in the snow waiting in line to pick up take out which wasfreezing cold by the time we finally got it. They don?t return phone calls when you do have an issue. We loved this restaurantwhen they opened which is why we?ve given them so many chances. We?ve given our support to this business for years, treated thestaff well and have not been treated well in return. Again, we are so disappointed and I genuinely hope they can get ittogether. I believe the only reason they are still in business is because there are very few options in Chemainus. Friends andfamily all say the same thing and many have stopped going already. A very difficult review to write but I feel was necessary atthis point."

"A perfect combination of amazing eating, magnificent view over the valley and the gardens and laid back-light comfort. limited week-end hours make this a popular off-the beaten track final. homemade pizza and a changing menu that can accommodate some food limits such as gluten-free. alderlea was from kombucca and had no milk alternative for someone with a milk alternative. menu is available online. price pretty reasonable."
