"Having made a rookie error of not checking the local events calendar before turning up at Mojacar with the intention of having a nice dinner somewhere at 9.00pm on a Saturday night which also happened to be la Noche Romántica, we were greeted by a cordon of police who were sending every car back down the hill as any parking within 1km of the town was full!! We made a quick decision to turn round and headed off up the coast to Garrucha. We quickly parked the car on the sea front and walked along the busy road trying to find any restaurant that looked vaguely appetising. As we reached the top of the road and just as we were starting to feel a little disillusioned, we came across Tierra y Mar. First impressions were “looks alright let’s go and check out the nice looking place over the road”. Having checked out the “nice looking place over the road” and having picked ourselves up off the floor after seeing the prices, we decided to take the plunge and crossed back over the road and sat down at a table on the terrace. Best decision in a long time! What followed was an evening of great food, great service and great fun. We were served by Marcos, who assured us it was his first night working there. Obviously an old hand in hospitality, he was charming and funny, but at the same time we were convinced he must have been working there for years! His recommendation of the Tierra y Mar (surf and turf steak and prawns was delicious as were the seaweed salads with tuna and with aubergine. Thinking things couldn’t get any better, we were then introduced to the homemade desserts menu. Having lived in Spain for a number of years back in the 80s and having visited many times since, Spanish desserts have never really been the high point of any meal. Not so at Tierra y Mar! Rum flambéed bananas, pecan tart, amaretti balls basically choose anything you won’t be disappointed. Very nice touch the Canadian chef and owner came out at the end of our meal to say hello and tell us a little about the restaurant and his desserts (he’s won prizes!! and to confirm that it really was Marcos’s first day!! Gracias por una experiencia muy positiva y un trato muy personal. Lo pasamos bomba, cenamos muy bien y nos fuimos de vuestra casa muy contentos thank you!!"

"The food is very good quality and very reasonable priced. We run Frankie Catering so we know good food when we taste it. The Tuna Melts Baguettes were fabulous as was the Chicken Salad we had with it (Fresh tasty chicken and very good variety) I love milkshakes which are hard to get in Almeria but the freshness and ingredients were to die for best milkshake I have ever tasted and I have tasted quite a few. The service is first class and the food and drinks are served very quickly. We love to use Victor's now as our go to when we are working as the quality of the food and service is outstanding. The menu caters for everyone and there is always a good selection of specials available. Recommended to anyone who likes good ingredients, value for money and excellent service. Thank you Victors Cafe we look forward to the next time."

"Delicious steaks in a lovely setting cooked to perfection. We went out as a group of 6and most had fillet steak cooked medium and it was perfect. Added mushrooms and sauted vegetables. Also alioli and bread was good and one had black pudding, very tasty! Complementary aperitif (limoncello, brandy or baileys) would throughly recommend"
