While some have encountered arrogant or snooty waitstaff, others appreciated the attentive service. The venue is a pleasant spot for a meal, particularly for those taking a break from museum visits. The food is generally delicious, well-presented, and reasonably priced. Many customers highlighted the gluten-free options, affordable wine, and beautiful setting within the Canadian Museum of History. With a diverse menu and friendly service, this bistro provides a satisfying dining experience for visitors exploring the museum or enjoying a leisurely lunch.
The service was average, probably because it was slightly busy and there were only 2 servers. Both pasta dishes we had were amazingly delicious and cheap. Would eat again.
The Bistro Boréal is amazing! We ordered pasta with cheese for our 2 year old and she said mmmm with every bite. Quite cute! She also couldn 't get enough of the creamy chocolate ice cream. We asked to have her served first and were served with grace and speed. Personally, I ordered the open face chicken salad with the soup du jour. Absolutely delicious. The portions were excellent for lunch and the price very reasonable. My friend ordered stuffed pasta and she too exclaimed how delightful it was. Food (fresh flavorful); price (very reasonable); atmosphere (calm and inviting) and the service was excellent (pleasant server, quick service and well attended). Will definitely put this restaurant on my return to list.
Awesome food and great service. The brunch menu has enough options to please. We arrived 30 minutes before closing time and they couldn't offer the burger and kobb salad anymore, so arrive early. We had the waffle and benny's with mushrooms, simple plates elevated with flavor. We also had the brie ravioli, it was delicious. Overall great food and appropriately priced. The service was quick and the staff smiling friendly. I highly recommend this place.
This is a good place to take a break from all the museum standing and slow walking, but the food is ordinary. The service was friendly, but the cafeteria on the lower level would serve the same purpose for a bit of a respite.
Some of the reviews from a few years back aren't very positive, but this place has clearly made improvements. Staff were like and prompt, and the restaurant itself is lovely. The menu is small but the items that they have are great. I had the mushroom soup and the bison burger both were phenomenal and my bill was about $20.
