"Romance to the wedding day: Arrival, feel comfortable, enjoy. That was the plan for dinner on our wedding day. A first "beautiful good evening" to change a few kind words and you can immediately feel yourself: Here you will receive as guest review and prepare for a culinary evening. In the second table in the tastefully decorated restaurant of the Hotel „Die Reichsstadt“ we experienced the next surprise. The receptionist accompanied us to a very covered two table, where we were congratulated on a small slate table and a bottle of champagne on the wedding day, although I had not explicitly asked for it when booking. A nice attention, we were very happy about it. The professionally well-trained waiter also welcomed us and helped us with his kind hesitant way to mount the drinks for our menu. We started with bread specialties, butter salt and an oil tincture with the following greeting from the kitchen, a delicious corn cream brûlée . From the rich menu, my wife chose a Hokkaido pumpkinslate with mango and bachsaibling, seasonal I chose a field salad with bacon and cracherle. We chose two classics for the main dish. My wife loves a bathy onion roast from the cattle comb, which was served with hints and vegetables, and a semi-dry red wine from the Durbacher Kochberg. I prefer the Badische Zanderfilet with apple sour wort and potato puree, and the upper recommended a mild Riesling from Orteau. The visual highlights were also often the two desserts. The lady enjoyed an ingwerbread souffle with Bratapfelsorbet and I chose a Café Gourmand consisting of an espresso and a dessert variation (see photo). During the enjoyment of the treasures, the staff was consistently attentive and thus rounded off our good overall impression. The tangible history of the former Reichsstadt Gengenbach with its lively culture and its dreamy alleys are already spraying your very personal romance. The Humm ́lisch-furnished hotel with restaurant takes up the charm of the city and spoils its guests with culinary treats and valuable ambience to come back as a visitor."

"We have eaten here during our visit to gengenbach on recommendation of a friend of mine and we have enjoyed it very well. the restaurant is located in the middle of a beautiful valley with an impressive forest next to it and looks like a history. we have eaten very well, at a good price and they have taken care of us very much! I hope I can come back one day. I recommend it 100%!"

"The Gaststätte Zum Turm in Gengenbach is located at the beginning of the pedestrian zone and is rather inconspicuous. However, when you go to this original pub, many different beers expect to be freshly tapped from one of the seven tails or ordered in bottle form. But not only for beer drinkers, this place is a good address. There are also many wines and various spirits on the menu. In addition to the lush menu of drinks, there is also a menu on the dishes of the Baden and Alsatian cuisine. In addition to showfle, Brathaxen, Sausage Salad, homemade meat cubes and co., this location has its own flame cake map with over 40 different variations, all coming from wood stove to plate. From classic to unusual (including flashcake with goat cheese and peppermint) to sweet, everything is there. On the homepage of the Gaststätte Zum Turm you can see the flame cake map. This place is very well visited so you should appear early. To the tower is a good address if you want to go good food and have a good quality of food. Even if you like to meet with friends and just talk to each other, you can do this here with a good beer or a glass of wine at the big counter. The host as well as the kitchen staff are very friendly and the orders come to the guest too quickly. Conclusion: To the tower, to the tower, storm the tower!!!"
