What John Yep doesn't like about Coffee Island Huáng Pái Ròu Gǔ Chá:
We have been here a few times now. The food here is good, but the prices are high and portions are small. This most recent visit we of course had Bak Kut Teh, and some clams, some fish (that was supposed to be grouper, but was not very good), some okra and some you tiao. The service is very available, but not very friendly. It seems to have gone downhill over time. I still like it OK never the less, but cannot honest... read more.

Great buk kut teh restaurant. You should try both soup and dry version. Pages with Stir fried veg is very well combined.

"Came to Penang for a holiday and found this gem in the heart of the city. The best bistro I've been through out my travels in Asia. Very reasonable price on cocktails and beers try their signature dishes.. it's out of this world. Awesome live music every night from rock, blues country. Trust me it's freaking good. Very friendly staffs and the owner is so humble whereby he finds time to sit and chat with his guests. Really made me my mates feel welcome at home. If only I could take this piece of gem to Australia and make it my own. Definitely coming back on my next visit."

"Lovely sourdough place, we went for another branch for coffee before and decided to come back to this branch, very cozy. There coffee was nice but we didn’t come in time for breakfast so got two sourdough sandwiches which the bread was nice but not so many taste in sandwiches. The staff is very lovely with great service. Very good place for chilling out."
