"Came to the breakfast and eating in the house was everything we had heard! cozy, home and comfortable, the restaurant is far from imagination, but this is his charm. ordered the breakfast special: two eggs, breakfast meat (we had the delicious garlic sausage), fresh made, real (not frozen) hash brown with grilled wobbles and tones. left completely satisfied and safe back!"

"Tried chicken cook for the first time ever! children had chicken finger dinner with fritten and cole Slav and divided it 3 away, hubby had a 3 piece meal with fritten and coleslaw, I had 2 pieces snack with only fries (I ate kinder coleslaw, it was so good). the huh was really tender, great taste and not super fat, as they were on many chicken almost food places. we had heard that it was good from the local family, but we were still uncertain. we are very happy that we no longer try. the chicken fingers were also delicious and we all enjoyed our meals. the personal was friendly, attentive and patient with our 3 little ones. great first experience. will be back."

"Arrived at 4:45pm and was advised that no seating was available due to an hour wait time for food. No wait list was being done until 5pm. Arrived at 5:03pm and was advised that they were closing the patio in order to catch up on orders, but they could seat us inside. Wait...what?? Yes, that was the illogical reasoning for not being able to sit on the patio. My guest and I sat inside, with a window seat adjacent to the patio. Yep, a much better way to catch-up with the food orders. On to the meal... Pickerel Cheeks to start with a Marble Rye Rueben with fries for me. My guest ordered a Club Sandwich on a tortilla with poutine. The Pickerel Cheeks were spot on. They were warm and provided the right amount of flavour and texture mixtures. The Marble Rye Rueben with fries and a side of gravy was a bit of a let down. The Rueben was hot and flavourful, but this was ruined by the salty and soggy fries. The Club Sandwich wrap was tasty and warm. However, it too was offset by those same salty and soggy fries...only made worse by the heavy beef gravy that drowned the entire bowl. Parting comments: Our food was served in a reasonable time, while folks continued to be seated. The waitstaff were overheard commenting on how they were glad that summer is coming to an end..it couldn 't come soon enough! Such an odd comment from a staff member who makes their living off of a tourism location."

"Love the fish here. But be prepared for staff that look like their parents are forcing them to work for free. Every time we’ve gone it feels like we are taking them away from something else they would much rather be doing. Do not get Caesar salad as it is lettuce with actual bread pieces. But the fish is worth the downside of the customer service."

"Annual pilgrimage to Pizza Place while out for for the Gimli 10 miler. Still among the best pizza anywhere. Excellent ingredients and generous portions. Original pizza oven is far superior in comparison to the conveyor belt toaster oven styles you'll find at Winnipeg take out locations. Great staff and funny owner always make you feel welcome. Keep the tradition going Jim!"
