We planned ahead by calling and letting them know what time we would be there for a late Sunday lunch. We arrived an hour and half before they were to close. We were the only patrons at this point in the restaurant. My friends ordered the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, a shrimp dish and eggs Benedict. We held a retirement lunch here for a coworker. I heard mixed reviews from the other diners in regards to food. The menu was pre-planned by the owner. Everyone got the same salad and it had blue cheese on it and came with balsamic vinagarette dressing, neither of which was a favorite of a lot of the diners. Perhaps the dressing could have been on the side. A common complaint was that the vegetables were not hot. However, my meal was very good. Vegetarian options: I informed the restaurant ahead of time that I am a plant based eater and the chef made a wonderful Thai Noodle with peanut sauce entree. I appreciated the consideration. But, on the whole, this is an upscale southern comfort food restaurant.
