"The Commercial Inn has recently won local MP, Robert Largen's “Best Pub in the High Peak” award. The pub is located on the corner of Manor Park Road and Sheffield Road but doesn't have it's own car park although street parking is available. The pub was clean and well presented and comprises three rooms that could be described as the bar area, pool room and dining area. Three large muted TV screens were turned on in the pool room and bar areas. The bar staff were smartly dressed and very polite. A food menu was provided but it was necessary to ask for the lunchtime menu which was eventually received. Two real ales were on offer: Timothy Taylor Landlord and Sharp's Solar Wave Hazy IPA as well as a good selection of lagers, ciders, wines and spirits. We ordered a ciabatta from the lunchtime menu as well as a meal from the main menu. The food took 45 minutes to arrive and when received had garden peas instead of the mushy peas that were requested (not a deal breaker but does show inefficiency). The food was of good quality, tastey and well presented. The value for money was OK and if you are in the area it's well worth giving the Commercial Inn a try."

"Took our son for his 13th birthday last night and what a treat. All the dishes we had were so tasty and so different to the 'normal ' options. I like to try something different but the waitress suggested my choice of main may not be ideal as it had a heavy emphasis on cardamom and cinnamon, so she made a choice for me and it was a good one. So, friendly staff, cool decor and great food. Will we be back? Try and stop us."

"Perhaps because we are spoiled with vegan Indian restaurants in Manchester, but we found this a little unimaginative for vegan dishes, a chickpea curry is the main item on the menu, which was a bit disappointing. The okra fries and corn on the cob were nice. To be honest we expected a little more since it's such a nice restaurant."

"Despite being totally full from dinner at nearby Lotus, we managed to squeeze in a Biscoff and banoffee flavored ice cream with a slice of cake to go. The ice cream and cone were yum and a really good price. The vanilla cake with a jam and cream centre was perfectly moist and flavorful despite being a little on the small side. Next time, I need to try the Oreo cake! Updated from previous review on 2023-08-14"

"Portion sizes are horrendously small!! Prices are so high. You can get 2 person meals from elsewhere. Used to be a good shop. Jerk chicken small size chicken, very dry inside. Not slow cooked like years before. Customer service has gone so down hill. What’s wrong with you guys. Serving with angry faces. Prices and portion sizes are the worst thing about this place.
