"It took me a while to write this review because I really wanted to give a good rating, since the ambience and service were both so lovely. However the food simply was not. While the crab cakes were delicious, they were absolutely tiny barely a mouthful, and each sat on a few measly leaves of spring mix. For $7.5 apiece I would appreciate even a little bit more salad, or something, but this is a recurring trend at this restaurant. For my main, I got the maple pork tenderloin which came with a delicious sauce. The pork was a little overcooked and chewy, but that wasn't the biggest issue. Once again, the portion was almost laughable. I could eat three plates of this and another entree myself, and have room for dessert. The saving grace was the sweet potatoes, which were delightfully caramelized and roasted to absolute perfection. The other entree was fish of the day, which turned out to be salmon on that particular evening. It was unfortunately very bland, along with the rice pilaf. Nothing to say except utter mediocrity. Got some creme brulee for dessert, which I have no complains about. It was delicious. Also forgot to mention, the free bread at the start was also fantastic, but there were only two half slices of it (you can get refills for 75¢ I believe, which I made the mistake of not doing). I really wanted to leave a glowing review for this place, but simply cannot for a meal that cost $150, I went home still hungry and had to pick up snacks for later. And I'm a fairly small person (5'4, 120lbs), so I can only imagine dining here as an individual with bigger stature. It is a shame though, because the vibe and the wait staff were some of the nicest I've encountered."

"I ordered eggs Benny here. It had marinated mushrooms on it, fresh spinach , poached eggs , hollandaise on an English muffin. I believe this version was West Street Benny or a name similar. The marinated mushrooms tasted so strongly of the marinade that it overpowered the entire dish. The poached eggs were overcooked and hard. The Hollandaise was OK. It was so bad that I could not eat it. I told my waitress, when she finally showed up with our bill. Her only comment was " Well at least you had some toast to eat". Once she served our food, she never came back to check on us other than to bring bill and take away plates. She was not a new waitress. She told us she worked there for several years but usually worked evenings. In the end she removed the Eggs Benny from our bill. We have eaten here several times. Last few times the service and food has been substandard."

"We've been here several dozen times have recommended it to many friends. Unfortunately our last visit was so disappointing, we will not come back. We drove from Grand Bend, a 25 minute trip, and were told at 6:25 that eat-in orders were not accepted after 6:30pm. After discussing it with the rude counter person for a couple of minutes, we pointed out at 6:27 that it wasn't quite 6:30. She proceeded to tell us that she was very tired and instructed us to leave home earlier next time. Well, there won't be a next time. I understand the service industry can be taxing, and have respect for the people who do this type of work but a surly attitude is never acceptable. What she could have said instead was that they close at 7:00 and she'd be happy to serve us as long as we were mindful of that. This was not the first incident of her rudeness, but in this case it was the last straw. We no longer recommend Out of the Blue, but share this story instead. It's a shame because the food was quite good."
