Bay Salt Cafe - Gold Coast

You would think that it's impossible to mess up a "Big Breakfast", but unfortunately, this restaurant did. The only thing worse than the extremely tough bacon they served was the complete lack of apology for their mistake.

We've ordered one big breakfast and one salmon omelet.After waiting 1 hour (only 2 other couples in the cafe) we received the big breakfast and were told the wrong omelet was cooked. The big breakfast was pathetic, the poached eggs came out of a microwave dish and were rock hard ( we've asked for soft) bacon tasted like it was 10 years old and the hash brown and tomatoes and toast were cold! We've told the waiter but nothing was done about it! Luckily I've canceled the omelet as I didn't want to wait another hour. My advise is not to go here, there are so many other nice Cafes around!

This charming café is dog-friendly and has mostly outdoor seating. The breakfasts are delicious and reasonably priced, but be prepared for a 30-minute wait if it's crowded, as it was during our visit.

The breakfast at this restaurant is delicious and comes with a choice of juice or tea/coffee for less than $18. The freshly squeezed juices for $7 are also a standout. The service is fast and friendly, with orders taken at the counter and brought to your table. It's a fantastic way to begin the day and a superior option compared to neighboring cafes.
