We wanted to try out the much talked about 'Yum Cha' during our Gold Coast visit so we went to this very popular joint. We weren't disappointed. Lots of variety to chose from and all dishes were quite good. Nothing really stood out, but everything was fresh and tasty. Would definitely recommend View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Top One Seafood Chinese Restaurant:
Despite having 9 floor staff in a mostly empty restaurant, the waitresses refused to bring the yum cha trolley to my table, forcing me to get up and select mediocre dim sum on my own. I had to wait for my Chinese tea and hot chilli sauce, and was surprised to be charged a higher price for prawn dumplings without prior notice. This final disappointment guarantees that I will not be returning to this restaurant. View all feedback.

Have eaten here twice. Impressed with room and wait staff, in new Meriton hi rise. Enjoyed meal very much with traditional Chinese choices of duck, lamb, pork and rice. Very happy with meal and service and ambience of the roomOn second visit I ordered scallop dumplings as entree. On eating I noticed pink colour meat in dumpling then wondered if it contained prawn which I am highly allergic to. Spat food out quickly, rushed to waiter who was serving another table, asked if it could possibly be prawn meat. It was. Quickly we paid our bill and returned home to where my EpiPen was. Have not returned since. Partly I was at fault, I usually make known to waiter my prawn allergy. I did not on this occasion. When ordering Scallop dumplings I was unaware that most Chinese Chefs add prawns to scallop dumplings.Have not returned since as yet. There is parking under the building and lift to other floors.
On a regular weekday with no crowds, there was plenty of staff but also a lot of waiting. I left an hour ago and just realized I am still waiting for the sweet and sour sauce I requested to go with my deep-fried dumplings. The scallop dumplings turned out to be prawns with a tiny slice of scallop on top, so not really scallop dumplings at all. The deep-fried items were not served hot as they had been walked around for a while. The service was terrible and even though I was still hungry and willing to order more items from the menu, I ended up waiting for a long time without anyone attending to me. After waiting for 10 minutes, finishing my drink, and getting frustrated, I gave up. For a restaurant located in a food court in a shopping center, the atmosphere and service should have been much better.

Flavor is good. Highlights: a) Their duck from the dim sum cart is very meaty and tender. A plate of that is 10.50, be aware a plate of boiled green vegetable 油菜 is also that price. I personally think that is overpriced. b)They do have menu of all their dim sums. c)Dessert tofu 豆花 is very simple dish with some sugar water but it's very flavorful with a little hint of burned ( caramelized ) soybean. Very delish for $5.50 it's more like what I remembered how it was in my childhood.
