"I never leave reviews but this was awful. We got the egg drop soup, fried rice, and orange chicken. The egg drop soup was like scrambled eggs in a thin broth. The fried rice had no flavor. The orange chicken didn't taste like orange chicken at all and for the cost was such a small amount."

"Bottom Line: tiles peeling from the ceiling, loud noises and mediocre food I want to start by saying that this review is in no way a reflection on the crew that was working when we visited. These poor folks work so hard and for very little (IF ANY) thanks or recognition... or tips! Most or all of the people working spoke at least two languages and are doin about 100 things at once. Please dont let this review reflect on their hard work The inside of this place was pretty long in the tooth and I can remember what it was like in here before the renovation. It's great that they finally put some time and money into updating it but, if I'm honest, it hasn't gone so well. the toilet in the bathroom sits at an angle, and there are some other strange things going on in there like some of the tile work and heavily distorted music coming from the ceiling speaker. the ceiling tiles in the eating area are peeling and discolored over all the work that was done looks like it was done very quickly and nobody is keeping an eye on the place. anyways, we ordered the food and sat down. The entire time we were in the building, there was a loud ~3k kHz tone (sorry.... audio nerd) that was uncomfortable for me and that was in addition to the other noises going on which made it pretty noisy. The food wasnt great and it certainly wasnt hot. In addition to this, there was a lady on the phone the entire time and walking around to each table to preach Scientology which wasn't helping anything. none of these things really motivate me to want to eat here again"

"Based on the reviews and verbal recommendations, I have been looking forward to the opportunity of trying out Sizzling Lunch for myself. I came in during the summer and on a weekday. Given it 's close vicinity to UCSB being in Isla Vista, there were a decent amount of groups dining in and the online take out orders kept piling up. The menu is a bit odd... They either have a mobile QR code menu to scan or a tablet electronic menu on each table, yet no paper or posted menu. The employee was easy going and friendly, but appeared to be waiting tables and cooking in the kitchen. He was very busy, however, was willing to answer one question I had which was: What is the top dish ordered? Based on the response and Yelp reviews, I went with the Garlic Pepper Beef on rice. In all, plus tip, it ended up coming out to around just under $20. My order was ready in a reasonable time--roughly 10 minutes. This is where things go downhill... I had my meal for take out which could have been my first downfall. At Sizzling Lunch you usually come with others, use a tablet to order, then cook your own beef, rice, broth, noodles and whatever else you order. Perhaps it 's about the experience. Second, I didn 't have the opportunity to put what spices or sauces on the dish myself; these are provided on the table. Instead when I opened up the box, it was smothered with a thick layer of garlic flakes. So much that I could barely see the meat or rice beneath. If it were fresh garlic it may have been different. Yet this would kill Dracula immediately! I tried to scrape off what I could but was unsuccessful. The dish was basically inedible, plus I couldn 't taste the meat by itself due to the overwhelming garlic flavor. Perhaps these two reasons were why I had a mediocre experience... who knows? I 'm up in the air on whether I want to try it again but this was simply a meh. Note: This is unassociated with the chains Sizzling Platter or Pepper Lunch franchises, yet has a similar dining concept."

"I came here for dinner and got the mole enchiladas, camarones a La Diabla, and some cabeza tacos. Everything was so tasty and amazing! The mole enchiladas camarones a La diabla came with rice and beans. Both were filling and flavorful. The shrimp was soaked in spicy sauce with actually had a good little spicy kick. The cabeza tacos were juicy and good. I usually get these tacos for my dog as well and he loved the meat. Definitely coming back here!"

"The Meal for 4 is the best!! Have to say I do not like that you have to order sauces separately, they should be recommended after you make your order or added on to your order for free. It’s in a different category so don’t forget to add these — Taco Bell isn’t the same without the sauce!!"

"My wife used to come here as a kid and I have never been, so we decided to go! I have to say this was the best Gluten Free pizza crust I've tried was really tasty and crispy! I had the Triple Threat and wow it was mouth watering with the chipotle carnitas, bacon, and pineapple!!! Great selection of brews on tap also and hard Kombucha which my wife loves since shes not a beer fan. The workers were really nice and service was quick. Definitely coming back and looking forward to it!! I would totally recommend it's a great place to have some beers and pizza inside or outside with a date, family or friends!"

"Not all vegan, but several vegan options. I almost tried everyone. my favorite is the vegan breakfast sandwich and the falafel sand. not everything is fantastic, but they are as good as in iw for vegans. unfortunately they have my order for vegan buffalo chicken cheese pommes grounded by holding the ranch even after removing it from it. Otherwise eat is hard, but tastes very good. ideal for drunk vegan almost food."
