we were in this hotel and felt very comfortable. very quiet environment and idyllic landscape. the rooms are simply furnished but very clean and cozy. we would like to emphasize this: herr reymond makes a good job in the kitchen. eating is adapted to the environment and tastes delicious. We went here for a quiet Swiss experience. Appenzell has some lovely peaceful views. The hotel has no elevator so carrying your luggage is a big nuisance, though we got some help when we checked in (but not at check out). The rooms are decent.
