update ca. 1 year (7/25/17) later I am back in town. I thought I'd try again. same business again, wing good, pulled boar good, brisket was a catastrophe! brisket was everywhere black, hard crazy dry. I'm sorry, but I don't think this place knows how to make brisket. also the waitress was very friendly and the understanding about the good. the wings are delicious, pulled pork is also very good. I was a bit disappoint... View all feedback.
Wing in the april fools and was not sure whether the menu prices were a sweat or not, sad they were not. very expensive food for quality and quantity; it is not bad, but could use a price reduction or improvement. I had the best rib sandwich (sunk big on paper) because I wanted to pay $20 for bark briquette, and it was bad, but nothing to write home about I was slightly disappointed. seven of us went to eat, we all agreed that it was just in order. service was decent, very polite and not, but could have been faster and more informed on the menu (at least portion sizes) the restaurant looks like a new and cleaner, but the just eating and service makes me want to spend my money elsewhere; a famous daves or texas roadhouse would have made the job just good and for about $6 $8 less. not terrible again, but not my first choice at eating in grand forks.
Stopped in for a quick beer and some food. Bar wasn't terribly busy. Sat at the bar and watched 2 bartenders visit, pour a few drinks and finally make their way to take my drink order. They went about their business, chatting, serving drinks, I finally was able up flag one down and all for a menu. More than 10 minutes later with both bartenders just visiting with each other I finally asked if I was able to order. They seemed very annoyed that I interrupted them. Food was quite good. I think the servers picked up I was annoyed and the service got better. Overall good beer, good food. Need servers who care.
Food was really great, it's too bad our service was terrible. Our waiter was rude and walked away from us while asking him questions. There were six of us at one table and we had ordered two appetizers along with one entree per person. Keep in mind this place was not busy, only half of the tables were taken. We received our appetizers after an hour and our entrees around 30 minutes after that. After taking our order our waiter did not stop by the table, the bus boy ended up bring our food out. We ended up receiving our meals one plate at a time and they failed to bring out one entree and another persons sides. We ended up telling the manager about what happened after we had finished the meals we had received. They charged us for all of our meals and drinks so we had to ask the manager to remove the items we did not receive. After another half hour the manager returned with our modified bill. our visit lasted around 3 hours as we had to wait for everything.
The meal came out minutes after getting our soup and salad. A little time to eat that would be great. The tortilla soup was awesome. The ribs however, were overcooked and dry and the potatoes were cold. A baked potato choice would be a plus. The bathrooms were not clean!
Wild Hog was a disappoint for us on Saturday, surprised the menu was changed to accommodate Red Pepper, instead of their tradition Wild Hog menu. Food was less then acceptable, taste was really off, had better food at other Mexican Restaurants in Grand Forks. We came for the traditional Wild Hog Menu. Room is small and tables are so close together, its like eating family style.. The only good thing was the waitress was fantastic.
