"The most modern restaurant that we visited in this area; slightly perverse at it was located smack in the middle of the historic old town! Actually situated next to the old market hall but not entirely sure what its original purpose was. Quite a small narrow room inside but as much, if not more, space outside where a popular patio is situated. As it was Friday evening when we visited, we made sure that we had a reservation. Just as well, the place was packed and buzzing by the time we left. No translations on the menu and the staff clearly not comfortable with speaking English. They did look smart, though, in red shirts and black trousers. Our guy looked like a pocket sized Vin Diesel, and was very kind when faced with our mangled efforts at portuguese. Fortunately, I can identify a steak in any language and this was a place that liked to grill meat. Very happy with my big, juicy, argentinian bife , and Mrs EPR similarly so with her chicken espadata, i.e. dangling vertical skewer of meat, pineapple, mushroom, peppers and chorizo. Shame about the chips that came too very weedy. We both enjoyed the chocolate cake for dessert firm, moist and rich. All this plus a carafe of house red generated a very reasonable bill. Well worth a visit."
