"We used the service of Chef Sandra for the catering of our film shoot for 2 days, from morning to late afternoon and she ravished us with her exquisite cuisine the whole two days with Portuguese specialties, treats, sweets and on demand meals. The food was beyond excellent: it was healthy, special, perfectly cooked and well served. The whole crew was amazed and happy to work in these conditions, she definitely took a huge part in the success of this production. I warmly recommend her, as not only her cooking is top-notch, but she is also a class A person: she's really nice, warm, very helpful and has perfect manners. Thank you again! And next time I wish to visit the restaurant, I am sure the warm feeling of great food and welcome is the same. AJ"

"I had a good experience at A Escola. Went with some friends who recommended the Hare Pie, which I chose and was not disappointed; it was delicious. Waiters were very friendly and checked several times if all was ok. They should have their ventilation checked, as the smell of food can get quite intense. Nonetheless, this is a restaurante that I will recommend and where I will certainly return."

"When staying in the Melides, Comporta region Quinta do Lourenco this is my preferred place. This is proper traditional Alentejo food at good value for money, and Dona Luisa (the cook then adds some little twists of her own: e.g. the pork with clams and shrimps served in a roof tile (great dish! , the lagartos served with a bit of fruit, etc.. If she has fresh fish and she knows how to tell the difference! she does amazing fish stews (caldeirada, cataplana This is a simple roadside restaurant, not a fancy place, althoug you sometimes find some celebrities there, hiding in dirty old clothes in true comporta style!"
