manager bew and server ashley m. have offered an exceptional customer service today. my wife and I are seniors who move in Canada and we were very tired when we arrived at fionn maccool for lunch. manager bew greeted us cordially and gave us such a great service and talk that we immediately lightened up. we were so impressed that we came back to dinner, where ashley m continued its extraordinary customer service. we... like many restaurants here in sudbury, this place has also made a dive. it was one of the few pub styles that we gave a chance and was let down. the kartoffels were not even real kartoffels. in an Irish pub! the steak and the mushroom cake were pure salt. my man who normally eats until he needs a nod had about 5 bites and could not take it anymore. We couldn't eat $58 on a meal. we understand that the cost of the bus... View all feedback.
We had a great time at Fionn's yesterday (November 25th) evening! Rob, our server, was great! Cold beer and delicious food! We love the atmosphere in this place! Remember the pubs in Ireland!
Food was very good, I got the tuna poke bowl. The rice in the poke bowl was jasmine, which personally I feel is a bit odd. Overall the food was really good, tuna wasn't gamey and ingredients seemed fresh. Waitress was really good at accomodating our food allergies and inquiries. Hands down would say check this place out. The Ceasar salad had a generous amount of parmesan, may not be to everyones taste and appeared to have a lot of sauce to lettuce ratio. (Wasn't my meal but at an eyes glace it seemed this way) Tips practice section: It should be noted that this place operates on a tip pool practice. So not all of your tip goes to the waiting staff but is shared with the higher paid kitchen staff. The staff can't owe the house money which is good but the staff can loose there tips to the kitchen by the sounds of it. An unconfirmed but speculating detail is that the kitchens cut is likely based on food dollar ordered like other places so the kitchens cut is more guaranteed which again speculativly is silly. Waiting staff are paid minimum wage though and have a guaranteed income regardless of tips which is good to see when there is a tip pool practice in place. All in all the experience was good.
Good times. I've visited several times over the years. The food is always good quality and service is good too; friendly and quick service. The place has the typical pub feel, and is a nice place to have drinks. The beer battered cauliflower is incredible. The salmon bowl was good too, however it could use way less creamy sauce especially if it's supposed to be considered a healthier alternative to other pub options)
Tonight I dined at Fionn for the first time with my board of directors of the Sudbury and District Kennel Club. The service was great the staff went beyond to accommodate our group with the table setting. Our waiter was really nice and service was great. And the food was really good. Thank you again Fionn staff fir making our Christmas dinner a good experience. Sue O'Neill
We stopped into this location while visiting Sudbury. We were greeted at the door with a smile and welcoming staff. We sat to look over the menu for take out and we’re offered a drink from the bartender. The beer was fresh and he knew his stuff. The food (Fionn’s burger) was great and serving size was fair. The staff were all wonderful. The food was great.
