Great food! Buffalo Chicken sandwich was excellent served w/ side salad that was very fresh and delicious balsamic vinaigrette! Nachos were great too. Highly recommend. View all feedback.
What Michael F doesn't like about Wasser Brewing:
The fish (in the fish and chips) was very good, and the buttermilk chicken was good. Fries were good but cold. Unfortunately our drinks (old fashion and Kentucky lemonade) lacked any sort of evidence of alcohol. I sent the old fashion back, but it stayed on the bill. I asked them to remove it, and it stayed on the bill. The poor wait staff were stretched exceptionally thin while the manager stared longingly to some f... View all feedback.
We always support local small business however, the sandwiches we had tonight were pretty bad. We also shared a loaded fries which was extremely bad and cold. The manager should dig in here. We will never come back. The beer was ok.
So, my review comes with a caveat. We were trying to get in a bite to eat and a drink before going to a basketball game at DePauw, and we got lucky. Apparently Wasser has been closed since August. They are doing small pop-ups at different times during the week. (I think Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings). We showed up at 11:30am on a Saturday and they were only open 9-12 that morning. There was one choice on the menu and actually I really liked that! French toast, bacon, hashbrowns, and fruit with unlimited coffee for $12. What a deal! All the food was delicious! They only had the brown ale on draft from Wasser and they had some beers from St. Louis and Fountain Square on draft as well. They had all the brunch drinks, and they are a whiskey bar, so the cocktail menu looked great. We tried the fall cocktail, the **** mary, and a mimosa. I really liked the fall cocktail. It was not what I expected, but still delicious. As for opening back up full time, we were told that March 1 they are hoping for a grand reopening.
Such a great place to eat when we visit from Indy! Everything we had for dinner tonite was amazing and tasted homemade and was made to order with very little wait! The servers here are excellent and so friendly! We had three generations for dinner and we all loved our meals; we shared the spinach artichoke dip and 3 of us had the Wasser burger each cooked differently and each to perfection according to what each of us wanted (their medium rare was my dad's favorite! The burgers come with a side of greens lightly dressed . The shrimp tacos were so fresh and delicious felt like I was eating beachside somewhere; the sauces that came with them a spicy red pepper and a cucumber cilantro sauce also with mango salsa really added a lot! They had beers on tap to choose from and soft drinks and the fries were also a yummy treat! A great meal with fun music and nice safe spacing between the tables, felt very safe as everyone was wearing masks when not seated at their tables! We will be back!
This place is such a joke was handed a menu and 5 min later was told only thing available was fish. I like fish but this was bad it was over cooked not flaky but hard. Told the sever it was hard and he looked at me like I didn't know what good fish was O.K... I left money for the drinks we drank got up and walked out not told sorry how can we fix this nothing. Wasser is a joke and I hope the lack of DePauw students sinks your business......
So glad I visited this gem in Greencastle. This is a great local joint. I adored the aesthetic and atmosphere inside with great music. Our server Wyatt was also a sweetheart. I got Vegetarian Tacos (made vegan) which were amazing! Great choice for dinner, and I wish I could recreate them at home! I also got the Triple Jam hard cider. Not bad, but not the best. Definitely recommend checking this place out!
