What Donna U doesn't like about Octagon:
Ate at the bar for quick service. Was greeted quickly but it took at least 5 minutes for anyone to come back to take our order. This wouldn't be unheard of usually but three bartenders were talking about 5 feet from us. The food was pretty good which is why they got two stars. I got the muscles which were nice but my wife's French onion soup didn't have enough broth. They didn't take any menus from us so it was awkwa... View all feedback.

Breakfast was solid, affordable and full of options. Good thick omelets and a ton of other hot options. Fruit was fresh. Just a very good experience overall and under $20 a person, which seems decent for a hotel restaurant and furthermore the only game in town.
Came here for the first time due to a conference I had in the hotel. Definitely more upscale with the food selections and therefore on the pricey side. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We started off with the Caesar salad which I enjoyed with the crostini and fresh garlic. For the main course we had the filet mignon, scallops, asparagus and mashed potatoes. The filet mignon was a little less done than I normally order however, it was delicious! The meat was so tender and flavorful. It was just right. I think a lot of the cracked pepper wound up on the mashed potatoes, so they had a little too much pepper for my liking. As for the scallops they were also very good. My only complaint is that the menu said we would get 4 scallops and we only had 2... so not sure where the rest of them went. Lastly for dessert was a triple chocolate torte, it was just enough for my sweet tooth. Overall, I had a good experience.
This is not a steakhouse and instead, located inside the hotel. The photos that were added years ago are not a good indicator of the food available. Someone posted the menu 4 months ago and that's what it is, plain and limited. Came here first night of our stay because thought it'd be good, since it's in a Marriott. Ordered the chicken with two sides. I should have ordered the burger. The chicken was about 4 ounces, but most was bone. Everything else on the plate were the side vegetables which were terrible. Mac and cheese tasted horrible, as if the macaroni was out of a box. Had no flavor to it. The asparagus with bacon was horrible tasting. The bacon was very salty. Should have been an even balance to include more chicken. When we were seated, the table had been wiped with an alcohol product but the table was soaking wet from it with the paper menu sticking to it, which I had to peel off and the utensils wrapped in the cloth napkin. I asked the waiter if he could wipe the table and he said the product will air dry. I said it's wet but he shook his head and didn't wipe it. The table didn't dry until we were served the appetizers. I had the clam chowder which wasn't great but wasn't lousy either. Seating is limited. There was an entire section that was closed off and lights out. Would have been nice to sit there because of how loud the area was where we were placed, which was right at the entrance and a wide open entrance at that. The meal was expensive and I didn't eat much of anything other than peeling off the chicken from the bone. When the waiter came to take my plate, I told him it was a terrible meal and that I should have ordered a burger. He made no attempt to knock it off the ticket or offer anything else and instead shrugged his shoulders. This is hotel food. If you want hotel food, this is the place to be. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area to pick. I don't recommend settling for this restaurant because of convenience. As I said, it is not a steakhouse.
This restaurant is Permanently closed. Replaced by The Helmsman. Same location different menu.
