Contribute FeedbackDespite the beautiful old rustic setting of the Royal Oak pub, recent reviews have expressed disappointment in the deteriorating atmosphere due to certain clientele. Complaints range from slow service and lack of available menu items to poor organization for large bookings. However, other patrons have raved about the delicious food, friendly staff, and welcoming atmosphere. The roast beef and crumble are highlighted as exceptional dishes to try. Staff members like Kaileigh are praised for making the pub quiz nights enjoyable. Overall, mixed reviews suggest that while improvements are needed, the Royal Oak remains a charming and potentially delightful destination for a meal out.
Arrived early but was still able to be accommodated, thought food would be nothing special but it was superb two of us had fish and chips and I am very fussy about this but it was the best I had.My husband had the Asian belly of pork and again he said it was wonderful, service was excellent and we will be going back. Thanks
The pub itself is beautiful, very old and rustic, timeless however ruined by the awful people. It used to be a lovely family pub the perfect place to bring your children and it has now become the local meeting point for the traveler community. Shame that management don't seem to care enough to protect the good reputation of the Royal Oak.
Came to the Royal Oak for dinner lovely service, friendly staff completely different experience to last time we came and was so surprised to see Laura! She used to be the Deputy Assistant Manager at Frankie and Bennys before she left. She didn’t recognise us and our children are grown ups now LOL but we used to dine there all the time. Such a small world. Will definitely be back.
Visited this pub for the first time last week for lunch and had a really enjoyable experience. Lovely food and great staff.
Lovely roast dinner, service was a bit slow, out waitress Eleanor was lovely and very helpful and ensured that we were all happy
