"Ive been hesitant to write this because I feel bad for having to be so honest. I loved the idea of the warren and its ethos and the fact that its family run...but unfortunately the meal I had was well below standard. I'll start at the good points first. It's lovely when you walk in there it's friendly and cosy...and surprisingly larger inside than it looks on the outside. The tables looked cute the atmosphere of all the other people in there was lovely too and it was busier than I would have thought for lunch. Ive been recommended the warren by a few people and they all seem to love it so I feel like our meal might have just been on a bad day maybe when everyone else was eating quiche? My husband and I both ordered the burger chips. As this had been raved about to us. It was really disappointing. The bun was really crumbly and felt stale the cheese turned it into a grease fest (even though the meat itself was lovely and tender and juicy). There was no relief of any kind at all yes there was a weird rather claggy creamy coleslaw which made little sense and provided no relief other than good meat in it it felt really greasy and stodgy. The chips were not cooked properly and were still hard it's a very unusual thing to mess up. I probably am a bit stuck up when it comes to a burger but who doesn't expect a soft bun, juicy Burger and a crunch or some balance? (again, I will say that the main ingredient of the burger the meat itself was lovely) which means again it could have been a bad day. It felt a bit like I was getting left overs. I left feeling like it was a wasted lunch which I could have enjoyed somewhere else. Im not confident about talking to staff when I'm not happy with a meal, so I don't know if it's a place I will risk and give another go."

"One of Carmarthen's best kept secrets! Think it's all homemade local food, Very reasonably priced, and expect to be chatted to by the staff! "We arrived at Laugharne nice little place off the beaten track after a 112 mile trek from Monmouth and In need of some refreshments. We saw Arthur's which wasn't too busy. Service was quick so ordered two coffees to slake our thirst's and was told our meal could take up to 35 minutes which we agreed too, upon the young waitresses return we ordered two all day breakfasts which from the menu which included drinks, these we weren't offered. Food arrived earlier than was told and eaten but we were still waiting for and not offered our included drinks, I had to go to the counter and ask the waitress for the included drinks and was told they are optional, and upon saying to her that the menu says otherwise, again she said they are optional (confused) I ordered tea and coffee. 15 minutes went by and a young waiter arrives with the coffee for my wife but no tea, he said will that be all, I said apart from the tea which I'm still waiting for, he said that the drinks come with the all day breakfast, at which point I reminded him that when we came, in they did not know what we were going to order so can't assume that our drinks that were initially ordered were the ones that were included. I said we have been waiting for our included drinks far too long, he goes back to the counter and speaks with the waitress about the tea, (he still wants tea) he said to her, they both start laughing, another 10 minutes go by and my tea arrives,. Upon leaving I wasn't presented with the breakdown of our items purchased and wasn't shown, so had to ask the waitress, which she did get right in the end two all day breakfasts, drinks included and a tea/ coffee on top. Food was good but service was s . I've seen the other good reviews and even had some good conversation with two of you other patrons on the day, but that's as maybe, your staff should treat all of your customers equally with the same respect and understanding. The low point for our 5 day trip to Wales, which in all other aspects was fantastically beautiful as always and a friendly reception by all that we met. Won't be visiting Arthur's again."

"Walked in on Mother’s Day on the off chance we might get a table for lunch, the staff were very welcoming and helpful and we were soon sat at a table. The staff were very attentive and asked if any of us had any dietary requirements none) water was swiftly brought while we looked at the set menu. What a fabulous choice for a very reasonable £28 a head. From the complimentary bread to the little choux bun served with coffee the food was exquisite. The portions aren’t large but one didn’t feel bloated and over full by the end of eating all three lovely courses just replete. Although we are not locals from the Midlands) we will definitely be coming back again. From three mothers thank you for making our Mothers Day lunch such a great experience ."

"My wife has asthma, and on a day where it was affecting her breathing more than others she chose to sit on one of the bench’s outside the restaurant for a 2 minute break on our walk back to our hotel. Someone came out and asked us if we had a booking which we didn’t and very rudely snapped you can’t sit there this is private property! He didn’t give us a chance to explain why we had stopped or that we were just about to move off again anyway! Not a good advert for the restaurant! Update: someone from the restaurant replied to my review saying I was basically lying because the member of staff who came out to us had a different story. Well of course he would! Not good for someone in a customer facing job to admit they were rude and abrupt to someone else even if they weren’t a customer. We know I was telling the truth and so does he. Hopefully it will serve as a learning opportunity for him in future!"
