I hadn’t been to this Chinese before last night, usually I would go down the road, but last night I just couldn’t be bothered waiting the 2hrs for the meal. They firstly charged me full price for the sauces which came half the size of what is usually expected the sauces are very bland. I bought salt pepper chicken wings but what I got was lumps of salt and pepper batter. The special fried rice was anything but , no meat or prawns just peas. "Been here lots of times in the past while out walking. Different owners and different standard of care. We called in today after a long walk and looking forward to our usual coffee. Although still serving people food at their tables, when I asked if we could just have 2 coffees the answer was a resounding NO we are closed. It was 3.50pm. We would have been happy with a take out coffee but again the answer was no. Obviously the people who were still eating would have been there longer than 10 minutes and I understand they didn't want to take food orders but would it really have been that much trouble to make 2 coffees. In g Future we will give our custom to the Prince Llewellyn in Beddgellert who even when really busy greet their customers with a warm welcome and great service. Caffi Gwynant only opens 4 days a week and you would think they would be glad of the custom. Obviously not!"

I am am amazed that it has not already been awarded a Michelin star. the restaurant itself is very underestimated, but good. the eating and the staff were fantastic. can not wait to return to the next visit caernarfon!"
