What Greg Marchand likes about Gamla Vínhúsið:
Only rated the service lower for those from US who are visiting very typical (IME) service as comparable European restaurants. Food was some of the best I've had. Kids ate light rice, veges and baked potato but they loved the food!! Adults ate soup, salmon, chicken, pasta and a local mammal (I won't mention it here as many will find it ethically challenging). Drink menu was good, atmosphere was awesome (in a European... View all feedback.

What Dagrún Þorsteinsdóttir doesn't like about Gamla Vínhúsið:
Had to wait 40 minutes for the food to arrive. We were the only people there. I did not get what I ordered, I was offered to get another plate but did not have time for that because I had to be somewhere else soon. I did not eat the food but had to pay for it! The staff was rude and I would not recomment this place for no one! View all feedback.

"This restaurant is awesome! We paid around 150 Euro for two people and both had three courses. For drinks we only got one draft beer and one capuchino. Water was complimentary. If this is an acceptable price range you can expect a superior dining experience. We booked in advance which is probably necessary on most evenings and were met by a friendly yet professional staff. We selected a starter and a main course. We received complimentary, very cute looking small bread loafs with a creamy herbal butter which was an amazing appetizer. The starter was delivered fresh made within a few minutes. The food was exceptionally good and we enjoyed every single bite. The staff was very attentive without being intrusive and our table was cleared soon after we finished the starter and the main was delivered soon after. The starter had set a high bar and the main was of the same high quality. The plates carrying the food were casual and rustic and the food was arranged to please the eye. It simply tasted fantastic. We decided we had space for dessert and once again we were impressed how tasty and good looking the food was. Overall an amazing dining experience, we highly recommend Reykjavik Kitchen to anyone looking for a local high quality meal served in a friendly environment and we hope to come again some time."

"A must-stop for craft beer aficionados while in Reykjavik. Skúli stands out from other local watering holes nearby in that they are fearless and experimental. Hopheads will likely appreciate Skúli for the wide range of IPAs including doubles and even an intimidating quadruple weighing in at 13.1% Well worth a visit for any craft beer-lover that isn't on a tight budget."
