absolutely cracking! a warm welcome for me, man and our little dog. there was a good number of menu choices to match any taste. my roast beef was a very generous part with crispy roasts, a homemade yorkshire and mounds of veg. the kitchen had very many substitutions due to the nutritional requirements. the service was also very fast considering that we visited a lively bank holiday. would have eaten again. 4 of us went for a Saturday lunch, 2 meals were good, 1 OK and one very disappointing. My wife has the seabass, which was just about ok My son had the sirloin steak, which gets a big thumbs up My uncle has the fish and chips and likewise a thumbs up. I had probably the worst steak pie ever, literally a top crust pie, with virtually no meat, floating in a large dish of gravy with mushy peas also floating in the gravy. Chips were wrinkled and cold. There were just two people serving, so everything was a bit slow, and I had to ask for menus twice Anyway, steak and fish and chips were solid 4s, the seabass a 3 and the a 1 for the pie, overall a 3.
