What a fun, friendly place! The assortment of herbs is wide-ranging and well-priced. Plenty of choices for olives, baked goods, veggies and meats, especially sausages and lamb cuts. Everyone we met was outgoing, helpful and knowledgeable about this mecca to Mediterranean foods. We'll return, if for no other reason than to sample the cafe offering coffee and desserts. What User doesn't like about Bedford Basin Farmers Market:
Looking for a few snacks, some fresh veg or maybe an ice cream cone plus more then this place is a great stop. Great selection of just about everything involving food. The prices on certain items can be on the high side. Also have an area to sit for some light eats or coffee with a friend.Great way to waste an hour on a Sunday afternoon. View all feedback.
Completely in agreement with previous posters on the negative points: it is overpriced on basic foods (e.g. I bought a box of frozen puff bakery, which is usually in superstore for just here, it was and the fact that it is. one of these small food shops that have no prices on the regals, and they emitting uniforms, means that they really read their input carefully or find the tiny white price tag on the back corner of the loaded point then it is too late. it is not really a farmer market, except that they have products and some homemade baked goods (although every time in a house, they will see big bags of apples or other products in mass volume if they are looking for this kind of thing). in addition: on Sunday afternoon the dining room was closely separated in the upper floor, where my arc touched the customer's arc behind me. we both felt annoying about it. I mean, I love to make new friends, but even in pre-pandemic times, when a sufficient distance was allowed, that was a bit too unpleasant. do not expect them to sit away from a stranger. Finally: the two paintings I visited in the main department of food business at the lower stage, the cash register simply had a really grumpy look at her face. no, hi, how are you? although she smiled and the young white couple wished a nice day before me. . . they get a star for a beautiful view of the licking. a star for decent brunch articles, considering that they might have overloaded people for the view. the stars were taken off for the above mentioned points (and the fact that they forget their Sunday brunch menu, although we are months in the pandemic). perhaps the new seasoned next door (separate business would be worth checking a day. but really, the view is the only thing they have here for them. many more possibilities in the neighbourhood to support small businesses for food and lunch.
A quick lunch. in concrete terms. beautiful view of the bedford basin, more tidy place to lunch.
So this is our new favorite café. my man and I like to come as soon as it opens, they were freshly baked, which are just delicious. I recommend the fresh fruits danish and the chocolate croissant. her American is good...too but the best part is the beautiful sea view both in winter and summer.
We attended a wedding at this venue and wanted to share that the room was decorated beautifully. The food served was delicious and served efficiently. The only thing to be aware of is between the wedding service and the reception guests must leave and allow...the room to be changed over. This takes minutes. There is a little cafe downstairs where you can purchase a drink and sit outside at the tables. You must pay for your drink at the cash register and then go to the bar with your chit to get your refreshments. No problem just don't wait in the wrong line up. Also, there were a few guests who had a cooler in their cars not sure if this is allowed but no one complained. The view from the room was gorgeous and there is a little balcony where guests can go outside and chat. All in all a great place for an event.
Review of the restaurant. You order your meal and drinks downstairs and have a choice of seating in a small area downstairs or a very large space upstairs. We were there for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Indifferent service and congestion at the counter when...ordering our French toast and coffee. The Americano was average, at best. We took our number and went upstairs. Sat at a nice table by the window overlooking the Bedford Basin and the Mackay Bridge in the distance. Our food was delivered in a reasonable time. The meal was nicely presented and the fruit topping the main was fresh and a decent portion. Despite having no real complaints, something about the experience was lacking. Will return to our regular Saturday morning breakfast place
