Since having a refurb it seems to be quite popular , however they have added a Chinese menu . So I opted for chicken chow mein...bad decision , only Chinese can...

This is a very clean fish and chip shop with a good variety of fish to choose from and the chips are excellent well worth a visit to a very rarely seen English...

Tried the liver dinner. Plenty of it but was tasteless fish and chips looked ok. Back to castle rise for me.

"It's a lovely shop with quality foods. They make great Sandwiches. My favourite are the meat pies also have a wonderful selection of cheeses and meats. Very helpful staff that you only get in shops like Monks."

"We enjoyed a delicious vegan brunch of homemade sausages, falafel hummus, with baked beans, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, homemade kartoffels and torts toast. the atmosphere was really cooled and the staff super friendly and helpful. impressed by the various options of plant milk we recommend the chai latte! too filled to try the cake today, but we will definitely be back soon"

"Lovely, slightly off the beaten track eatery, we were made to feel very welcome with excellent friendly service. food was excellent and received helpful pointers as to what dishes contained meat and vegan dishes etc. My perogi were great and the bortsch that my wife...had aas excellent.
