"Absolutely abysmal. Waited 2 hours for our food. We had a reservation at 7pm and didn't get our drinks ordered until half 7. They had ran out of a lot of drinks and frequently forgot how many we had ordered. After waiting an hour and a half for food, despite being the only ones in there bar two over small tables, we were told that a mac and cheese couldn't be made as there was no pasta so a member of our party was left without a meal. She has waited 2 hours to be told she couldn't eat at a restaurant. A vegan meal came with cheese. I asked the manager if it was vegan cheese and she said yes but when the chef was asked he kicked off because it didn't say vegan on the order slip. If I had eaten that meal I would have been in hospital. I had to wait so long for a replacement for that I asked for it to be put in a takeaway box. The drinks that were made were not made to a high quality and we had to ask for them to be redone properly. They only had about 3 songs on repeat so eventually after listening to the same thing about 20 times over we asked them to just turn the music off. The food that was provided was very poor and overpriced. They did give us a few things on the house because of how much they'd f ed up but I wouldn't have paid at all if I had been on my own. The bill was just short of £200 but I wouldn't have paid £20 for it. This place is absolutely dreadful. Do not waste your time there."

"Alkalise your body and improve your health … I’ve wanted to eat here since I moved north in November and it’ll be the first of many visits from now on. Our first time here with a table for 5 and all sharing meant we tasted a big section of the menu (see images of the menu). Each of the portions was very generous to say the least. What amazed us all we’re the complex flavour combinations. They were slightly weird on some but they all worked and very well too. Alkaline Nachos £10.95 Nachos with marinated baked quinoa, topped with refried beans, cashew sour cream, guacamole, pineapple salsa and pickled red cabbage. All with a smoked cashew cheese drizzle over. They were indulgent, sweeter than I’ve had before and had tangy twist too. BBQ Tacos £9.50 Shredded carrot in an alkaline BBQ sauce in a crispy corn shell, filled with refried beans and guacamole. Topped with pineapple salsa and pickled red cabbage, served with a side salad. Best BBQ tacos in the north so far. Thai Buddy Bowl £10.95 Orange teriyaki chickpea tofu surrounded by, pineapple 'fried ' quinoa, purple coleslaw, a thai side salad, with an almond and ginger dressing and quinoa falafels topped with mango chutney. Crazy flavours that worked really well. This was my favourite dish and I could eat this most days of the week. I’ll be back for this dish on its own. Thai Wrap £9.95 Quinoa and peanut butter falafels in a soft wrap with mango chutney, coleslaw and kimchi served with a thai side salad, with an almond and ginger dressing and pineapple quinoa. A mental combination of ingredients for a falafel but was amazing. Again, sweeter than I’d have imagined. Pink Pitaya Acai Bowl £5.50 A fruity smoothie bowl topped with raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, banana kiwi and coconut (we held the seeds). What an amazing breakfast. A real power breakfast too. Immunity Boost Juice £4.00 (x2) Strawberry, pear, apple and lemon juice. Refreshing and moreish. Tropical Sunrise Smoothie £4.50 Papaya, mango, orange, banana, coconut, maple and cashew smoothie. It was as nice as you’d expect and none of the fruits lost their identity due to the power of another. Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie £4.50 Strawberries, banana, peanut butter, maple and lemon smoothie. Another one that doesn’t quite sound right but really does. The peanut butter was not overpowering and provided a nice earthy grainy taste and texture, lifted by the sweetness of the fruit. A great experience and worth the wait. Would I recommend Yes I’d insist you go for the flavours and filling plates alone. Will I return. We’ll be back again soon. Need to finish that menu. Alkaline kitchen What’s in a name? Your metabolism — the conversion of food into energy — is sometimes compared to fire. When things burn, an ash residue is left behind. Similarly, the foods you eat leave an “ash” residue known as metabolic waste. This metabolic waste can be alkaline, neutral, or acidic. So, if you eat foods that leave acidic ash, it makes your blood more acidic. If you eat foods that leave alkaline ash, it makes your blood more alkaline. Acidic: meat, poultry, fish, dairy, eggs, grains, alcohol. Neutral: natural fats, starches, and sugars. Alkaline: fruits, nuts, legumes, and vegetables. Acidic ash is thought to make you vulnerable to illness and disease, whereas alkaline ash is considered protective. By choosing “Alkaline Kitchen” and an alkaline diet you should be able to “alkalize” your body and improve your health."
