La Milpa Fresh Market - Hammond

I absolutely love this place! If you're looking for fresh produce, this is the spot to visit—it's way better than any of the larger stores or any other places I know of. The deli is fantastic too; I often come here to buy chicken. I highly recommend trying the guacamole and pretty much anything they prepare in-house. While it’s a small establishment, that's part of its charm. The staff is friendly and always helpful.

The restaurant offers a variety of options, including regular soy meat and steak, as well as a ceviche-style dish. If you're having trouble finding something, the staff is more than willing to assist you. Take a look at the shelf above eye level, where you'll find a wide assortment of seasoned nuts, seeds, and more. On the lower shelf, there’s a selection of different dried chilies. They also have a great range of products, including nopales (cactus) and frozen corn husks, all of which are vegan.

This place deserves zero stars. I bought arrachera and hamburger meat, and the smell was absolutely terrible. I ended up throwing everything away. Please make sure to check your meat quality!

Nice little mexican store. Good selection of meats, seasonings, and plenty of other items.
